The Washington Redskins (6-6) are still alive in the NFC playoff hunt, but their odds are narrowing down after season-ending injuries to quarterbacks Alex Smith and Colt McCoy. The Redskins host the New York Giants (4-8) at FedEx Field as Week 14 action continues on Sunday afternoon.
The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Fox in select areas (coverage map here). If you can’t watch live, “Hulu with Live TV” also comes with 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage (with the ability to upgrade to “Enhanced Cloud DVR,” which gives you 200 hours of DVR space and the ability to fast forward through commercials).

If the Game is Out of Your Market

Following McCoy’s injury, the organization signed Mark Sanchez to start for the remainder of the season. Sanchez had been waiting for an opportunity to get back into the league, and now he has the chance to have a strong showing and lead Washington into the playoffs.
“In some ways, two weeks ago, it was an unfamiliar position, but really historically, it’s a familiar position and that’s what makes it fun. You work for something, you pray for something and then it finally happens. You don’t care what the circumstances are. You’re just happy to get a shot. Not to prove anything to anybody else, but just for you, just for you, just for the guys I just met that I’ve grown close to in just a few days.”
Reports surfaced this week saying Smith’s career may be in jeopardy following the injury he sustained and subsequent surgeries. Sanchez will need to make do with what the Redskins have. Washington may be without Josh Doctson, who is questionable with a hip injury.
The Giants have ruled out Odell Beckham Jr. for Sunday with a bruised quad injury. Beckham was limited in practice all week and entered Sunday as questionable, but all indications were that he would likely play. This obviously sets the Giants offense back, and gives the Redskins a break in coverage.
Good news is Evan Engram will be back after missing two games with a hamstring injury.
