The Patriots and Anderson have agreed to a restructured contract, Field Yates of ESPN reports. The agreement slightly reduces the base value of Anderson's deal down from $3.35 million, with the move in line to create $990,000 in salary cap space for New England. In his second season with the Patriots, the 28-year-old -- who finished the 2023 campaign on IR -- figures to compete for a swing tackle role along the team's offensive line, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.
Dugger and the Patriots agreed Sunday on a four-year, $58 million deal, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. According to Rapoport, Dugger's contract is worth up to $66 million and contains $32.5 million guaranteed. Earlier in the offseason, New England placed its transition tag on Dugger, but the tag merely served as a placeholder until the 28-year-old safety was able to work out a longer-team deal with the Patriots. Dugger turned in his best season yet in 2023, appearing in all 17 of the Patriots' games while logging 109 tackles, 1.5 sacks, seven passes defensed, two interceptions and one forced fumble.
Hawkins has agreed to a one-year deal with the Patriots, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Hawkins split the 2023 regular season with the Falcons (six games) and Chargers (10 games), en route to combining for 14 tackles in that span. The 2020 fourth-rounder did rack up 84 tackles and two picks for Atlanta in 2022, but with the Patriots Hawkins figures to serve as a depth safety behind Jabrill Peppers and Kyle Dugger.
Osborn signed a contract with the Patriots on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Osborn will join up with the Patriots on a one-year, $4 million deal, according to Albert Breer of SI.com. The 2020 fifth-round pick is coming off three solid seasons with Minnesota, producing an average statline of 52.7-615-5.3 while starting all but one regular-season game over that span, His numbers did take a slight dip despite the absence of star Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson for seven games in 2023, as Osborn logged 48 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns over 16 games. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old slot receiver should see a healthy workload in a New England receiving corps that is in need of help. Osborn will likely compete with Demario Douglas and Tyquan Thornton (ankle) for a starting role alongside Kendrick Bourne (knee) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle).
Leverett and the Patriots agreed on a contract Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Leverett started 10 games for the Buccaneers at offensive guard in 2022 and he'll now have an opportunity to compete for a starting role with New England. As a 27-year-old, Leverett still has plenty of tread left on his tires.
Watts is signing a contract with the Patriots on Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Watts' contract details are unclear but the 27-year-old will spend the 2024 campaign in New England after spending 2023 with the Steelers. The Arkansas product played 260 snaps on defense across 15 contests last season, recording 15 combined tackles, including 0.5 sacks.
The Patriots have minimal commitment to Bourne (knee) beyond 2024 despite re-signing him to a three-year contract worth up to $33 million, Ben Volin of The Boston Globe reports. The deal is loaded with incentives and light on guarantees, with a base value of $19.5 million and only $5.5 million guaranteed at signing. Another $2.5 million becomes guaranteed for 2025 if Bourne reaches 800 yards in 2024, though the Patriots presumably would want to keep him around in that case anyway. The 28-year-old had a career-high 800 receiving yards in 2021, his first season with the Patriots, and he was on pace for 863 yards and eight TDs last season until an ACL tear cost him the final nine games. Bourne said in February that his rehab was ahead of schedule, and in early March he added that he expects to be a "full go" for training camp and Week 1. It's not yet clear who he'll be catching passes from or competing for targets with, apart from the likelihood of second-year WR Demario Douglas and veteran TE Hunter Henry getting significant playing time.
