1.Google Glass May Have Unique Addition to Library
The app was created by MiKandi which is the largest adult app supplier. The appropriately titled program lets users share, comment and vote on content that they like. Pre-loaded with pictures, the app is suited for a Google Glass point of view. The company told BetaBeat that original productions will be available soon for the wearable computer. While this is the first porn selection to arrive, the other apps added to the glasses are much more tame like CNN and New York Times.
2.Porn Studios Wanted To Take Advantage of This
Last month, adult news site reported that many studios were curious about the potential the computer had for their content. The article quoted Pink Visual spokesperson Q Boyer saying that the basic benefits of the computers is the visual quality it would have compared to traditional cameras.
“To really know their full potential, we’ll need to get a pair to play around with, but we’re already dreaming up ways to use the glasses to get shots (sex-related and otherwise) that just aren’t feasible using a traditional camera setup,”
3.Google Had Banned Facial Recognition
A key component of this app is user-generated content but Google had banned facial recognition software for privacy concerns. The Guardian broke this story when developers pointed out it was possible to download programs without the search engine’s permission. This also enabled users to link back to photo sharing services. In response, the company altered their developer agreement to strengthen their security concerns. Now, developers are restricted from violating the terms of services to misleading users about what the capabilities of the app are in terms of content.
4.App May Not Appear After All
One of the requirements of the new and improved developer policies is that sexually explicit content is not allowed on the space the wearable tech will create. This is obviously a big hindrance to the MiKandi creators despite their awareness of it only happening today. While the creators have yet to hear from Google, this only increases the fear the computer will be abused. Regardless, the company won’t let this stop them and plans on continuing to add more programs.
5.Google Glass Doesn’t Need This
The absence of porn will be a good thing. The reactions from the new computer have already been critically polarizing and they need to emphasize this as more “cool” than “creepy”. The fact that Google Glass is operated by simple facial gestures means fans of programs can abuse this. This is a dynamic creation that has potential to bring us into the future but fortunately it isn’t arrive until next year. Google made a smart move installing more developer friendly policies but programs like this are not necessary.
