Uber Adds Fare-Splitting Feature: What You Need to Know

Uber Adds Fare Splitting Feature Screen

Tired of taxis? Looking for a more luxurious ride to get to dinner or make your train? Uber has a solution. Perceived as the pioneer of car summoning programs, Uber helps reduce the stress of flagging down a car. The popular app has expanded into 35 cities and 14 countries. Despite this expansion, Uber received a series of complaints in regards to its cost. Now, the app has created a new feature that should protect it from the competition and attract more customers.

Uber has added a fare-splitting feature unique to ride-summoning programs. The way it works is that whoever calls for the ride can click on one of their contacts who are registered with Uber too. From there, you both team up to cover the total cost of the ride as long as your friend has the proper credit card information registered. Payment occurs after the ride takes place. The app is available for Android and iPhones which gives Uber another advantage of reaching customers on both ends of the smartphone spectrum. Customers can choose from either the traditional yellow taxi or a luxury sedan to take them wherever they need to go. While this is a nice promotion for the service, it comes after the bizarre development of a helicopter ride. You can download the app from the Google Play Store and the App Store here
