Google Releases Its Android Device Manager App in the Play Store

Today, Google launched a dedicated app for its Android Device Manager. It was back in August when Google rolled out a web version of its Android Device Manager, but there was no Android app to be found. Similar to the web-based product, the app allows users to locate their Android device on a map, see when it was last used, make a lost unit ring, and lock and wipe the device. The Android Device Manager has all the same qualities as Apple’s Find My iPhone service does, but it’s tailor-made for Android devices instead of iOS devices.

While it makes more sense to use the Android Device Manager on the web, people with multiple devices, will be able to access more of the security features in the new app. You can download Google’s Android Device Manager from the Google Play Store here.
