ooVoo is an app that lets you make free video calls, voice calls and send text messages to your friends and family. All you need is to be on 3G, 4G or WiFi and you can stay in touch with your friends at all times. Here’s a guide on how to use ooVoo app to make free video calls, voice calls and send text messages from your iOS or Android device.
1. Download the ooVoo App
Head on over to the Google Play Store or App Store and download the ooVoo app. Once the app is downloaded, you’ll need to create an account. You can do this by signing up with your Facebook account or with your email address. Keep in mind that once you create a user name, you won’t be able to change it. After you fill in the necessary information, you will need to confirm your country code and enter your mobile phone number. The app will send you an SMS to your number so you can confirm number. If you give permission to ooVoo, the app can access your contacts to see which friends are currently using ooVoo.
2. Update Your Profile
If you want to update your cover photo on your profile, all you need to do is click on the settings icon, tap edit profile and tap on update your profile cover. You can even leave a status message.
3. Send Text Messages
To chat with your friends, simply tap on the contact you want to text and tap on the ‘Chat’ icon on the bottom left-hand of their profile. Enter a message and tap ‘Send.’ By tapping on the ‘Paperclip icon’, you can take a photo or video, upload existing photo or video and see your ooVoo Media.
4. Record a Video
With ooVoo, you can easily record a new video to show to your friends.Tap the ‘Paperclip’ icon, tap ‘Take a Video’ and tap the ‘Record icon’ on the bottom right-hand corner. You can choose from a variety of filters that you would like to add to your video. You can record videos up to a minute long with ooVoo.
5. Create Group Video Chat
One of the best features about ooVoo is that you can great a group video chat with up to 12 people. if you’re already in a conversation, simply tap the ‘+’ and search for friends you’d like to add to the group video chat.
6. Make Free Voice Calls
To call one of your friends, simply tap on the ‘Call’ icon on the bottom right-hand corner of the persons profile. You will have options to to chat using speakerphone, press mute & hold, and you can add more contacts to the conversation by going to ‘Contacts.’
