Apple Pay functionality will be added this month to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus via an update to iOS 8. At the iPad launch event on October 16, Tim Cook revealed that Apple Pay will launch on Monday, October 20.
Owners of the iPhone 5, 5c, and 5s will also be able to use Apple Pay if they purchase an Apple Watch when it is released next year. Apple Pay is very simple to use. For iPhone 6 owners, you just hold your iPhone near the contactless reader at the store with your finger on Touch ID. A vibration and beep lets you know that your payment has been accepted, without you having to look at the screen.
