How to Get Free iTunes Gift Cards on Black Friday

Black Friday 2014 is right around the corner, and Apple has announced their Black Friday promotion. While Apple doesn’t always offer huge savings on their premium products, Apple Stores will offer a little extra enticement to get shoppers in the door this year. Apple Store shoppers can look forward to free gift cards with select Black Friday purchases. These iTunes gift cards can only be redeemed at the U.S. iTunes Store, Mac App Store, App Store, and iBooks Store. Here’s a guide to the free gift card deals Apple is offering this year.

Black Friday at the Apple Store has been branded as the “(RED) Special Shopping Day Promo.” To support the upcoming World AIDS Day, Apple incorporating the (RED) charity into its Black Friday plans. Apple will donate a portion of its retail and online sales from Black Friday to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

Mac Rumors notes that “some of these [gift card] amounts are lower than last year’s Black Friday sale, which provided $150 gift cards for Mac hardware, $75 for the iPad Air and $50 on iPods.” While that may be disappointing, Apple is still offering some nice gift cards with select purchases. Plus, this year’s shoppers can get gift cards with their iPhone purchases, which was not the case last year.

Here’s a rundown of which Apple Store purchases you’ll need to make in order to earn certain gift card amounts:

$25 gift card: Buy a iPod touch, iPod nano, Apple TV, Beats headphones, or Beats speakers
$50 gift card: Buy a iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, or iPad mini
$100 gift card: Buy a iMac (either regular or Retina 5K display), MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Retina iMac, or Retina MacBook Pro
