The newest installment of the Star Wars saga, The Force Awakens, won’t be released until December. That’s a long time to wait to see if J.J. Abrams ruined or saved the franchise. The excitement of experiencing Luke, Han, Chewie and Leia back together again is almost too much to handle, especially after the release of the latest trailer. Instead of using the time to argue about whether or not Han shot first, he did, you might as well play some games. We realize these can’t fill the hole left by Jar Jar Binks, but hopefully these games for iPhone and Android will pass the time until midnight on December 18. Some of these are paid while others are free but all of them will bring you to a galaxy far, far away.
1. Knights of the Old Republic ($2.99)
Known as one of best RPG games, Knights of the Old Republic is discounted on the App Store and Google Play for a short time. Three dollars is a steal for an incredibly full-featured game. The app maintains all of the integrity of the PC version, but you can take it with you. Set four thousand years before the Galactic Empire, the Sith is hunting Jedi Knights. While many are slaughtered, others defect to the dark side, leaving hundreds vulnerable and weak. Customize your very own Knight to take back the galaxy, and travel to different planets to complete missions. This game really feels like another installment of the Star Wars saga. There are completely different characters and storylines, and you get to be a part of it. Learn how to fight with a blaster, sword and eventually light saber then master the Force to defeat evil. If you’re looking for a really good RPG game in general, jump on this discounted price.

2. Angry Birds Star Wars II (Free)
The original Angry Birds Star Was was a huge smash, pun intended. Who wouldn’t love tiny bird Luke Skywalker flying across the screen to attack an evil pig stormtrooper? The second installment focuses on the three prequels. Play as Anakin, Yoda, Mace Windu and over 30 more. Each character comes with a special set of skills so you can use a lightsaber to attack buildings or push down towers with the Force. Each set of levels is set on a different planet and as you progress, you’ll get more characters and powers. Kill all the pigs with one bird and collect all the coins to earn all of the stars. The more stars you get, the faster you go can go through each level. Angry Birds finally gave the people what they want with a Jar Jar Binks bird, so if that doesn’t make you download it immediately, I don’t know what will.

After completing missions for both Darth Vader and Princess Leia, you will be asked to join either the Empire or the Rebels. Choose wisely because they will help you protect your land. You have to customize the base so there is enough room to house all the people you bring back from the clutches of evil, so use coins to buy huts and place them around your base.
