If you want to hop onto the VR train with a fancy new Sony PlayStation VR, you’re in luck. The headset came out October 13th, and can be bought alone or in a bundle from many retailers.
But buyer be warned: make sure you own a PlayStation before you buy the headset. It doesn’t work by itself, it needs the console. If you have a PlayStation already, you can opt for the “launch” bundle at $499. It comes with the headset, its video and audio processing unit, two PlayStation Move controllers, and a PlayStation Camera. If you’re ahead of the game and already have the camera and motion controllers, you’re looking at the “core” bundle, at $399, which is just the headset and processing unit. Both of those bundles come with an eight-game demo so you can see what VR games are all about.
