iPhone X Pre-Order with Verizon: Price, Details & Tips

The iPhone X will be available for pre-order starting on October 27. You’ll want to be online after midnight Eastern because the preorders sell out fast. Historically, the preorder page goes online at 3 a.m. Eastern. 

If you’re with Verizon, you’re in luck because Verizon customers can order online with the iPhone Upgrade Program.

You can pre-order the iPhone online through the Apple store website or the Apple Store app. You can also sign up for the iPhone Upgrade program and order your phone that way, sending your phone back via a return kit that’s mailed to your house. You’re eligible if you’ve made at at least 12 payments on your iPhone after at least six months from the time you got your first one.

The iPhone Upgrade Program uses Citizens One bank in the U.S. and Barclays in the UK. The prices for for the iPhone X through the program (which includes AppleCare+) are:

• $49.91/month for 64GB
• $56.16/month for 256GB

You can also pre-order the iPhone online at Verizon’s website or app. (Note: Last year Verizon’s website began selling the new iPhone six minutes later, at 3:06 a.m. Eastern.) This also appears to be your only option if you’re using the Verizon upgrade program. Make sure your credit card is already on file and your password is saved with touchID in order to speed up how much time it takes to order your phone.

If you order through Verizon, your price will be $41.66/month for a 64GB or $999.99; or $47.91/month for 24 months for the 256GB or $1149.99 retail price.

With Verizon, you can get $300 off with trade in of an iPhone 6s or newer, Galaxy S7 or newer, Google Pixel XL, LG G6, or Moto Z2 Force. You can get smaller tradeoffs for older phones. To qualify, you must be a current or new subscriber to either Verizon’s Go Unlimited or Beyond Unlimited plan. The trade-in discount will be given as a monthly credit over 24 months. Another option is to call your carrier and order your new iPhone over the phone. Some people have better luck than trying to order through their carrier’s website.

If you’re going to order the phone online, don’t delay. Pre-orders can sell out fast and you might get pushed to a delayed back order. According to customers, the fastest way to preorder your iPhone X is through the Apple Store app. To make this even faster, use the iPhone Upgrade Program and get your order preapproved.
