21 Best Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Cases

samsung s20 fe cases

Just when it seemed like Android users were getting burned out on the gradually rising prices of Samsung phones, the Korean tech giant released a Fan Edition series that includes both the S20 FE and the newer S21 FE. Both phones retail for a fraction of the price of their flagship counterparts. But just because the S20 Fan Edition is a value-priced phone doesn’t mean you should be okay with scuffing up its 120 Hz display and plastic backplate. Read on to browse our picks for the best Galaxy S20 FE cases available.

Our Unbiased Reviews
  1. 1. EDITOR’S CHOICE: Pelican Voyager

    Pros:
    • Military-grade drop tested
    • Large raised bezel
    • Antimicrobial coating
    Cons:
    • Bulky design
    • Limited color options
    • High price tag

When it comes to providing the maximum protection for your Galaxy S20 FE, it is pretty hard to beat the Pelican Voyager Series Case. This case is made from military-grade drop-tested materials and has a massive front and rear bezel to absorb shock from the nastiest of drops.

This does mean that the case is pretty bulky but Pelican obviously knew that or else they wouldn’t include a free belt clip with kickstand alongside it. As an added plus, this case has an antimicrobial coating that protects you from germs just as well as it protects your phone from scratches. If you can overlook the bulky shape and high price tag, this is by the far the best Galaxy S20 FE case available.

  2. 2. Caseology Parallax Case

    Pros:
    • Slim and durable
    • Grippy design
    • Large raised bezel
    Cons:
    • Limited color options
    • Mushy button covers
    • Limited drop protection

The Caseology Parallax Case is a slim and stylish way to keep your Galaxy S20 FE safe from scratches and scuffs as well as some light drops. This case is designed to be pocket-friendly so it definitely won’t save you from dropping your phone off a balcony. But as long as you are generally pretty careful with your stuff this is a quality phone cover. That’s why we also recommended it for the original Galaxy S20 when it first launched.

  3. 3. OtterBox Symmetry Series Case

    Pros:
    • Slim and durable
    • Responsive button covers
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited drop protection
    • Clear plastic discolors easily
    • Bezel could be larger

Though the brand OtterBox is usually synonymous with bulky defender cases, they make a pretty solid hybrid case for the Galaxy S20 FE. The OtterBox Symmetry Series Case offers you the same OtterBox Certified Drop+ Protection as their Defender cases, albeit in a smaller package. True, this means it won’t be able to absorb as much impact as a bulkier case but unless you frequently throw your phone around you probably won’t notice much of a difference. It is still a solid choice.

  4. 4. Spigen Rugged Armor Case

    Pros:
    • Slim and durable
    • Large raised bezel
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited color options
    • Shows scratches easily
    • Limited impact resistance

The Spigen Rugged Armor Case is a crowd favorite from past Samsung releases because of its refined balance between protection and portability. This case is quite slim overall, making it easy to hold in the hand. This is even true for larger phones like the S21 Ultra.

At the same time, it has a large raised bezel along the edges of the phone which helps disperse shock in the case of a drop. This smart design makes it a great choice for minimalists who just want decent protection from wear and tear. Just note that it doesn’t come in very many colors.

  5. 5. Osophter Clear Case

    Pros:
    • Slim and transparent design
    • Raised bezel
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Could be grippier
    • Clear plastic discolors easily
    • Limited impact resistance

The Osophter Clear Case is a great way to show off the visual flair of your Galaxy S20 FE, especially if you got one of the new colors such as Cloud Navy, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, or Cloud White. The clear TPU material absorbs shock and resists scratches without radically altering the appearance of your phone. It has a slightly raised bezel at the corners but it still could be grippier.

  6. 6. UAG Pathfinder Series Case

    Pros:
    • Military grade drop protection
    • Grippy design
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited color options
    • Bulky design
    • Bezel could be larger

The UAG Pathfinder Series Case is a no-nonsense defender-style case that uses two layers of military-grade drop-tested materials to protect your S20 Fan Edition from all manners of harm. It has a raised bumper frame to absorb impact on your S20 FE’s vulnerable edges and a grippy design to keep your phone from slipping out of your hands in the first place. I do wish its front bezel was a little larger but aside from that, this is one of the best Galaxy S20 FE cases available.

  7. 7. Futanwei Shockproof Case

    Pros:
    • Military grade drop protection
    • Lots of color options
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Bulky design
    • Could be grippier
    • Mushy button covers

The Futanwei Shockproof Case is a heavy-duty snap-on case that offers military-grade drop protection for every corner and surface of your Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. It uses a simple dual-layer design to provide protection from both drops and scratches while only being just slightly bulkier than the Spigen Rugged case. It still works with the phone’s wireless PowerShare feature, though, so it certainly isn’t too bulky. This case comes in quite a few different color options too, which makes it a great choice for those who want their phone to stand out from the crowd.

  8. 8. anccer Newborn Series Case

    Pros:
    • Slim and durable
    • Grippy design
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited drop protection
    • Stiff button covers
    • Limited color options

If you are looking for a protective case that is softer than a baby’s bottom, then the anccer Newborn Series Case is a solid pick. Its genuine leather backplate feels smooth in the hand while providing some extra grip not ordinarily offered by the S20 FE’s Gorilla Glass backplate. The main draw, though, is the Newborn’s raised bumper frame, which provides a protective bezel as well as extra shock dispersion without interfering with wireless charging. That’s called a win-win.

  9. 9. Case-Mate Soap Bubble Case

    Pros:
    • Slim and durable
    • Antimicrobial coating
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited drop protection
    • Could be grippier
    • Clear cases discolor easily

The Case-Mate Soap Bubble Case is a transparent protective case that adds a mesmerizing iridescent swirl to the stock color of your Galaxy S20 FE. Beyond adding aesthetic, it also provides extra cushioning against drops and scratches with its durable TPU material. The case material is also treated with Micropel protection to deter the growth of bacteria on the case. Between these two benefits, Case-Mate provides you very few valid reasons to not use a protective case for your phone.

  10. 10. Olixar Leather Wallet Case

    Pros:
    • Holds 2 cards plus cash
    • Folio kickstand
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Could be grippier
    • Bulky design
    • Limited impact resistance

If your pockets are bursting at the seam trying to fit a 6.5-inch phone and a wallet, then the Olixar Leather Wallet Case is a great compromise. It is both a wallet and a case, as it offers slots to store two credit cards or cash. These are tucked neatly behind a folio cover which helps to keep your screen from getting scratched in your pocket. It can also be folded backward for use as a media kickstand. I only wish it was a little grippier.

  11. 11. Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro Case

    Pros:
    • Built-in screen protector
    • Built-in kickstand
    • Military-grade drop tested
    • Rubbert port cover
    Cons:
    • Limited color options
    • Could be grippier
    • Stiff button covers

The Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro Case is a two-piece protective case that protects your phone from all angles using both a raised bumper frame and a built-in screen protector. The case is military-grade drop tested to resist impact damage and comes with a belt clip to keep it firmly attached to your hip when you are on the go. This case also has a rubber port cover and a built-in kickstand, adding additional utility to your case. If only it came in more color options.

  12. 12. i-Blason Cosmo Series Case

    Pros:
    • Large raised bezel
    • Built-in screen protector
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited color options
    • Could be grippier
    • Limited drop protection

The i-Blason Cosmo Series Case is a stylish hybrid case that provides all-around protection for your Galaxy S20 FE without adding too much bulk to its 6.5-inch form factor. It uses a raised bumper frame to create a protective bezel for your phone’s most vulnerable components: its screen and camera. The Cosmo case also comes with a built-in screen protector that works with the Fingerprint ID feature, further protecting your screen from scratches. It won’t save your phone from massive drops like the Pelican Voyager will but it is a sturdy enough case to keep your phone in one piece.

  13. 13. Samsung Clear View Cover

    Pros:
    • LED display shows notifications
    • Front cover with card slot
    • Grippy texture
    Cons:
    • Folio cover doesn't fold back
    • Limited impact resistance
    • High price tag

The Samsung Clear View Cover is a little pricey in comparison to third-party case offerings but it offers unmatched utility thanks to its built-in display window. It is designed to work with the S20 FE to display notification previews and lock screen information even while the folio cover is closed. This allows you to catch quick intel without leaving your screen vulnerable to drops and scratches. Its design is slim and grippy but it isn’t particularly drop resistant, though, so don’t consider this case a license to throw your new device around like a sack of potatoes.

  14. 14. Speck Presidio ExoTech Case

    Pros:
    • Slim and durable
    • Antimicrobial coating
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited color options
    • Could be grippier
    • Limited impact resistance

The Presidio ExoTech Case is a fairly new offering from Speck that foregoes their extra-grippy rubber padding for a backplate that is styled to be more slim and durable. This snap-on case provides decent protection from scratches and scuffs though it won’t be the best for protection from impact. One nice feature is that the Presidio ExoTech case does have a Microban® antimicrobial coating.

  15. 15. Baisrke Card Slot Case

    Pros:
    • Holds 3 cards
    • Raised bezel
    • Kickstand mode
    Cons:
    • Could be grippier
    • Wireless PowerShare is finnicky
    • Limited impact resistance

If you can get away with carrying just your license, a debit card, and a credit card, then the Baisrke Card Slot Case can easily cut the size of your daily carry in half. That’s because this hybrid case has a hidden rear compartment that holds up to three cards. This raised back also provides a bezel to protect your rear tri-camera array. This bezel wraps around to the front screen as well. This creates a nice overall buffer against drops and scratches but note that you won’t easily be able to wireless PowerShare with the credit card compartment full.

  16. 16. Feitenn Heavy Duty Metal Case

    Pros:
    • Aluminum frame
    • Included screen protector
    • Rubber port cover
    Cons:
    • Bulky design
    • Could be grippier
    • Shows scratches easily

The Feitenn Heavy Duty Metal Case is an extra-tough case that protects your Galaxy S20 FE from all forms of damage. It uses a silicone layer to reduce the impact from drops plus an aluminum frame to protect from scratches. It comes with an optional screen protector as well. And it has a rubber port cover to keep dust out of its USB-C port. This makes it an easy choice if you need job site-ready protection for your phone.

  17. 17. Samsung Silicone Case

    Pros:
    • Slim and durable
    • Raised bezel
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited color options
    • Could be grippier
    • Limited impact resistance

Although Samsung doesn’t have a Silicone Cover to match each color design of the S20 FE, you’ll find a few of the most popular colors available if you’re after the brand-perfect fit. This slim and durable case mold is designed to offer some basic scratch and drop protection without adding too much bulk to this 6.5-inch phone. Wireless PowerShare works great through the backplate and the case offers a decent raised bezel too. You do pay a little extra for the name brand, though.

  18. 18. Love Mei Heavy Duty Metal Case

    Pros:
    • Military-grade drop tested
    • Built-in screen protector
    • Large raised bezel
    Cons:
    • Bulky design
    • Difficult to remove
    • Wireless PowerShare is finicky

If you are after uncompromised protection for your S20 FE, then the Love Mei Heavy Duty Metal Case is a solid choice. This case sports a Military-grade drop test rating as well an IPX6 water-resistance rating, so it is sort of like the budget version of a Pelican case. This case doesn’t cheap out on much, though, as it includes a built-in screen protector made with tempered glass and has an aluminum frame. You have to bolt the two pieces together, which is cool but also makes it hard to remove. And, yes, wireless charging still works through it but you will have tougher luck getting PowerShare to work.

  19. 19. Crave Dual Guard Case

    Pros:
    • Grippy design
    • Slim and durable
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited drop protection
    • Mushy button covers
    • Bezel could be larger

The Crave Dual Guard Case is a reasonably-sized dual-layer case that is designed to protect your S20 FE while adding some extra grip. It doesn’t have the most cushioning against drops but it works great with Wireless PowerShare while keeping an overall slim profile. And this is totally fine. After all, that is usually the point of these hybrid designs, which aim to strike a balance between pocket-friendliness and protection.

  20. 20. Samsung Clear Standing Case

    Pros:
    • Slim and durable
    • Built-in kickstand
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Clear plastic discolors easily
    • Limited drop protection
    • Could be grippier

Of all of the Samsung-branded cases available for the S20 FE, the Clear Standing Case is probably the most elegantly-designed. It consists of a clear TPU shell with a foldout aluminum kickstand for media viewing in both landscape and portrait mode. And that’s pretty much it. It has responsive button covers and it works fine with wireless charging and PowerShare, so it is basically like not having a case at all. The bulk of the raised bezel is well-managed, even though it is not as protective as full-on defender cases are. You pay a little extra for the Samsung branding but the quality is there.

  21. 21. Hoomil Wallet Case

    Pros:
    • Holds 2 cards plus cash
    • Folio kickstand
    • Wireless PowerShare compatible
    Cons:
    • Limited impact resistance
    • Could be grippier
    • Limited color options

Need to trim down your everyday carry? The Hoomil Wallet Case is a simple and stylish way to protect your S20 FE plus two cards and some cash all in one. The front folio cover stores your payment methods behind a sturdy magnetic clasp and it opens into a kickstand for media viewing as well. Its TPU leather exterior isn’t the best for protecting from drops but it offers a sturdy buffer against scratches on all sides. This is especially nice if you keep other stuff in your phone pocket. The slim design also allows it to work with wireless charging and PowerShare.

Do You Really Need a Galaxy S20 FE Case?

The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition cuts costs by omitting a number of premium features found on the flagship Galaxy S20. Thankfully, a durable build and an IP68 water resistance rating are not among the omitted features. But with that in mind, do you even need a case for your phone?

If you want your phone to look as good as it does the first day you get it, then yes you do. That's because the S20 FE uses a slightly softer plastic for its backplate and so it is even more vulnerable to scratches and scuffs than the original phone. Additionally, the near bezel-less design of modern smartphones makes it incredibly easy to crack your phone screen! Just how easy is it?

According to this data reported by the Miami Herald, an average of two smartphone screens broke each second in America in 2018. That totals to about 50 million broken phone screens. So if you don't want to become a statistic then you should definitely consider getting a protective case with a raised bezel.
