Michigan was in control for all of the game, except the final play. The Spartans recovered a botched punt to score the game winning touchdown as time expired. The Spartans beat the Wolverines 27-23. They were trailing 23-21 with 10 seconds left. It was fourth down and Michigan had to run the final play.
The Wolverines had led by as many as double digits. It was a shocking way to end what seemed to be Michigan’s game to win. Rivalries.
