If Allen can't suit up Sunday, Hunter Long is likely to continue to back up Colby Parkinson at tight end.

Latest Rams News
Davis Allen : Still not practicing
Allen (back) did not practice Wednesday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Allen missed practice all of last week due to a back issue and didn't suit up for Sunday's loss to Arizona. His absence from practice to begin this week isn't a promising sign for his chance of returning to action against San Francisco in Week 3, though he'll have two more days to get back on the field prior to the release of Friday's final injury report. If Allen can't suit up Sunday, Hunter Long is likely to continue to back up Colby Parkinson at tight end.
Cobie Durant : Still dealing with toe injury
Durant did not practice Wednesday due to a toe issue, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Durant hurt his toe during Los Angeles' season-opening loss to the Lions. He was similarly held out of practice last Wednesday and entered this past weekend with a designation of questionable on the injury report but ultimately suited up against Arizona, though he logged less than a full workload with 73 percent of the Rams' defensive snaps. Durant's practice status the next two days and his designation on the Week 3 injury report should shed light on the extent to which he's in danger of missing Sunday's clash with San Francisco.
Joshua Karty : Doesn’t practice Wednesday
Karty (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. The Rams' rookie kicker, Karty tweaked his groin in last Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. Through two contests, Karty has drilled all three of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra points. If Karty is unable to kick in Week 3 against the 49ers, the Rams signed Tanner Brown to the practice squad Tuesday as a logical replacement.
Jordan Whittington : Prepping for key role
Whittington is preparing for a larger role with Puka Nacua (knee) on injured reserve and Cooper Kupp (ankle) likely out for multiple weeks, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Whittington barely played Week 1 and didn't get much playing time in the first half of Sunday's 41-10 loss at Arizona, but he then played every snap on offense in the second half, finishing with two catches for 22 yards on two targets. He seems to be ahead of Tutu Atwell in the pecking order and may thus join Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson as full-time players this Sunday against the 49ers. While expectations for the rookie sixth-round pick should be modest for now, he did get a lot of praise from teammates, coaches and beat reporters this summer, and he's a candidate to take some carries in addition to whatever targets he might get.
Tyler Johnson : Ready for starting gig
Johnson and the Rams' other wide receivers are preparing for larger roles with Puka Nacua (knee) on injured reserve and Cooper Kupp (ankle) expected to miss multiple games, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Apart from garbage time in this past Sunday's blowout loss, Johnson has played nearly every snap on offense since Nacua injured his knee in the second quarter of the Rams' Week 1 contest. Johnson finished the opener with five catches for 79 yards on seven targets, before slumping to two catches for 20 yards (three targets) in the Week 2 loss at Arizona. He now appears locked in as a starter for at least the next few games, alongside Demarcus Robinson and Jordan Whittington / Tutu Atwell. A matchup with the 49ers this Sunday isn't ideal, and the Rams offense faces the added challenge of losing two starting linemen to injured reserve already.
Demarcus Robinson : Leading injury-riddled WR room
Robinson is preparing for a larger role with Puka Nacua (knee) on injured reserve and Cooper Kupp (ankle) expected to miss multiple games, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Robinson has only six catches for 92 yards this season after a nice run of performances in the No. 3 receiver role last year, but he should start to draw more targets if nothing else, playing alongside Tyler Johnson, Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell instead of targets hogs like Nacua and Kupp. The issue for fantasy is efficiency, especially with the Rams already losing two starting offensive linemen to injured reserve and now drawing a tough Week 3 matchup against the rival 49ers.
Cooper Kupp : May not go on injured reserve
Coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that the Rams aren't sure whether they'll place Kupp (ankle) on injured reserve, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Kupp was knocked out of this past Sunday's loss at Arizona with a sprained ankle that McVay relayed Monday was expected to sideline him for "an extended period of time," per Adam Schefter of ESPN. McVay also noted Wednesday that Kupp's injury isn't season-ending and won't require surgery, but the wide receiver will be in a cast for the next week, per Rodrigue. Meanwhile, the Rams have to consider their allotment of designated to return from IR slots, of which each team has eight to use in a given campaign. L.A. currently has 11 players on IR, two of which have been designated for return already, so there's a chance Kupp isn't placed on the reserve list, even if he ends up missing more than four contests. With Puka Nacua (knee) out for the foreseeable future, Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell are the healthy WRs on the Rams' active roster.
Jonah Jackson : Shifts to IR
The Rams placed Jackson (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday. Jackson fractured his scapula during the Rams' Week 2 loss to the Cardinals, and he's now officially been moved to IR. The Ohio State product will be eligible to return for Los Angeles' Week 8 matchup with the Vikings.
