Latest Trail Blazers News
Rayan Rupert : Recalled to NBA
Portland recalled Rupert from the G League's Rip City Remix on Sunday. Rupert has appeared in two straight games for the Trail Blazers, totaling four minutes. Portland has a lengthy injury report for Sunday's game against the Celtics, so Rupert could be in store for an elevated role.
Jabari Walker : Questionable vs. Boston
Walker (concussion) has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Celtics. Walker has missed the last four games for the Trail Blazers with a concussion. If he's ruled out against the defending NBA champions on Sunday, the next opportunity for the 22-year-old to get back on the floor for Portland will be Tuesday against the Cavaliers.
Donovan Clingan : Listed questionable for Sunday
Clingan (illness) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Celtics. Clingan missed the upset win over the Nuggets on Friday due to an illness, but prior to that, he had started in 16 straight contests, although part of that was due to the absences of Deandre Ayton (calf) and Robert Williams (knee). Clingan should return to the starting lineup immediately if deemed available for Sunday's contest. He's averaging 8.0 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game in those 16 previous contests.
Anfernee Simons : Iffy for Sunday
Simons (illness) has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Celtics. Simons could miss a second straight game for the Trail Blazers due to an illness. If he's ruled out against Boston, Scoot Henderson will likely be in the starting lineup again for Portland.
Jerami Grant : Doubtful for Sunday
Grant (knee) has been listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Celtics. Grant will likely miss a seventh straight game for the Trail Blazers while nursing a right knee issue. Kris Murray and Shaedon Sharpe will likely be leaned on to help shoulder the load if Grant is ultimately ruled out against Boston.
Rayan Rupert : Headed back to G League
The Trail Blazers assigned Rupert to the G league's Rip City Remix on Saturday. Rupert continues to bounce back and forth between the NBA and the G League. Rupert is averaging 19.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 35.3 minutes across his nine appearances for the Remix this season.
Dalano Banton : Leads second unit in win
Banton posted 19 points (6-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three steals across 29 minutes off the bench during Friday's 128-109 win over Denver. The 25-year-old guard was the star of Portland's second unit at both ends of the court. It's the first time all season that Banton has produced multiple steals and blocks in the same game, while the 19 points represented his best offensive showing since dropping 23 on the Nets on Feb. 28. Banton didn't score more than seven points in any of his first eight appearances in March, however, and failed to score a point at all in his last four, so a repeat performance seems unlikely any time soon.
Shaedon Sharpe : Pops for 23 in Friday’s win
Sharpe amassed 23 points (10-22 FG, 1-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 39 minutes during Friday's 128-109 victory over the Nuggets. The third-year guard continues to supply consistent production as part of the starting five. Sharpe has started 12 straight games and scored in double digits in 11 of them, averaging 18.5 points, 6.0 boards, 3.1 assists, 1.8 threes and 0.8 steals over that stretch. If there's been one blemish on his starting stint, it's been his long-range accuracy. Sharpe is shooting just 26.5 percent from beyond the arc during those dozen contests.
