Adames (thumb) will start at shortstop and bat fifth Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Adames suffered a bruised right thumb after misplaying a groundball in Monday's game, but it won't be enough to keep him from starting Tuesday's contest. The 30-year-old slugger has been starting to turn things around at the plate after a slow start to the season, slashing .405/.436/.568 with eight RBI and four runs scored across his last nine games.

Latest Giants News
Willy Adames : Back in starting nine
Adames (thumb) will start at shortstop and bat fifth Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Adames suffered a bruised right thumb after misplaying a groundball in Monday's game, but it won't be enough to keep him from starting Tuesday's contest. The 30-year-old slugger has been starting to turn things around at the plate after a slow start to the season, slashing .405/.436/.568 with eight RBI and four runs scored across his last nine games.
Robert Ray : Should make next start
Ray (leg) isn't expected to miss any time after being hit with a comebacker during Monday's start against Arizona, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. This is some of the only promising news of the night for San Francisco, as Ray was rocked for 10 runs in 4.1 innings of work, and both Willy Adames (thumb) and Jung Hoo Lee (back) exited with injuries. Ray's next outing tentatively lines up for Sunday against the White Sox.
Jung Hoo Lee : Expected to sit Tuesday
Lee (back) will be held out of Tuesday's lineup against the Diamondbacks, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. Lee was pulled from Monday's game after experiencing back spasms, and the team will likely give him at least one day to rest before putting him back on the field. Drew Gilbert or Will Brennan could draw the start in right field Tuesday in Lee's place.
Willy Adames : Nursing bruised thumb
Adames has been diagnosed with a bruised right thumb, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. It's not clear whether Adames will be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's matchup. The Giants figure to re-evaluate the injury in the morning to determine whether he can take the field for the second game of the series in Arizona.
Willy Adames : Exits early vs. D-Backs
Adames was pulled from Monday's game against Arizona after suffering an apparent right hand injury, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Adames looked to suffer the injury on a grounder that got past him in the bottom of the fifth inning. He was shaking his hand after the play and was promptly removed from the matchup. Adames can be considered day-to-day until further notice.
Robert Ray : Exits with possible injury
Ray left Monday's game against the Diamondbacks after being struck with a comebacker in the left leg, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. He allowed 10 runs (nine earned) on 11 hits and two walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings. It's not clear at this time whether Ray actually suffered an injury, or if it was simply a decision by the Giants to pull him after a miserable outing. The club should have another update on Ray's status for his next start in the coming days.
Jung Hoo Lee : Lifted with back spasms
Lee was removed from Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks due to back spasms, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Lee will likely be sent for further evaluation to determine whether he'll need a stint on the injured list. He can be considered day-to-day until the club has another update to share. Will Brennan took over in right field Monday in Lee's absence.
Logan Webb : Rehab start on tap
Webb (knee) will make a rehab start later in the week, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Webb hit the 15-day injured list May 9 due to right knee bursitis, but he continues to trend in the right direction. Assuming his rehab appearance goes as planned later this week, he should be ready to be activated from the IL shortly after, per Pavlovic.
