Latest Raptors News
Gradey Dick : Will miss Summer League finale
Dick has been ruled Aaron Rose of SI.com for Sunday's Summer League game against the Spurs due to a right ankle sprain. Dick played well in Summer League action but will be forced to miss the finale due to a right ankle sprain. The injury does not figure to linger into training camp, let alone the regular season. The 20-year-old is primed for a significant role for a Raptors team looking to build for the future.
Jonathan Mogbo : Ruled out for Summer League finale
Mogbo has been ruled out for Sunday's Summer League finale against the Spurs due to a back contusion, Aaron Rose of SI.com reports. Mogbo was selected by Toronto with the No. 31 overall pick in this year's draft, and he made two appearances during the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 3.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12.9 minutes per game. He'll get a breather as the Raptors close out Summer League play Sunday.
Javon Freeman-Liberty : Won’t play in Summer League finale
Freeman-Liberty has been ruled out for Sunday's Summer League finale against San Antonio due to an illness, Aaron Rose of SI.com reports. Freeman-Liberty will get a breather for Sunday's matchup after appearing in Toronto's first four games in the Las Vegas Summer League. Over his four appearances, he averaged 14.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per game.
Ochai Agbaji : Won’t play Sunday
Agbaji has been ruled out for Sunday's Summer League finale against the Spurs due to a right shin contusion, Aaron Rose of SI.com reports. Agbaji appeared in Toronto's first four games during the Las Vegas Summer League but will sit out the finale. He averaged 6.0 points and 4.8 assists in 23.2 minutes per game over his four appearances.
Ja'Kobe Walter : Held to five points
Walter notched five points (2-8 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT) with two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 21 minutes during Saturday's 94-69 Summer League win over the Thunder. Walter was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year while at Baylor before being selected by the Raptors with the No. 19 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Walter's three-point shooting will be his calling card in the NBA, but he couldn't find his shot Saturday. With the Raptors undergoing a rebuild, the rookie could potentially carve out a decent role as the season progresses.
Garrett Temple : Returns to Toronto
Temple and the Raptors agreed on a one-year deal Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The Raptors signed Temple back for his second year with the team Monday. The 38-year-old averaged 3.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 10.7 minutes in only 27 regular-season appearances last season.
Bruce Brown : Team option picked up
The Raptors are exercising Brown's $23 million player option for 2024-25 on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Instead of hitting free agency this offseason, Brown will be under contract in Toronto for one more season. In 2023-24, the 26-year-old guard averaged 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 27.9 minutes across 67 appearances split between the Pacers and Raptors. Brown's expiring contract could also be a valuable trade piece for Toronto.
Immanuel Quickley : Agrees to $175 million deal
Quickley agreed to sign a five-year, $175 million contract with the Raptors on Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The Raptors acquired the 25-year-old from the Knicks in December, and he turned up his game in Toronto as he started in all 38 appearances. Quickley averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 0.9 steals in 33.3 minutes while shooting 39.5 percent from deep for the Raptors. He was entering the 2024-25 campaign as a restricted free agent but has now secured a massive deal shortly after teammate Scottie Barnes agreed to a max contract.
