Welch signed with the Packers on Friday, Zach Kruse of USA Today reports. Welch previously played for Green Bay in 2023, when he appeared in 14 regular-season games exclusively as a special-teamer. The veteran linebacker saw time in 2024 with Baltimore and Denver, again working primarily in a special-teams role. Welch will likely reprise his status as a core special-teamer with the Packers next season but could log occasional defensive snaps as a depth linebacker.
The Packers signed Hardman (knee) to a one-year deal Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Hardman will head to Green Bay after catching 12 passes for 90 yards and carrying the ball five times for an additional 62 yards and a touchdown in 12 games for the Chiefs last season. He suffered a knee injury in December that landed him on injured reserve but can contribute on both offense and as a returner once healthy.
The Packers are in line to sign Hobbs to a four-year, $48 million contract, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Hobbs earns a substantial payday in Green Bay, after having proven himself as a reliable slot cornerback across four seasons with the Raiders. The 26-year-old started 38 of his 51 regular-season appearances with Las Vegas, including seven starts out of 11 games in 2024. With Jaire Alexander (knee) an apparent candidate to be traded, Hobbs is a key addition to what may be a revamped Packers secondary for 2025.
Banks (knee) is slated to sign a four-year, $77 million contract with the Packers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Banks was regarded as one of the best offensive linemen available in free agency. His 2024 campaign ended on injured reserve due to an MCL injury, but he should be considered healthy now and ready to take over as the Packers' new starting left guard in 2025.
McManus and the Packers agreed to terms Tuesday on a three-year, $15.3 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. McManus joined Green Bay mid-season in 2024, ultimately converting 30 of 21 field-goal attempts and all 30 extra-point tries across 11 regular-season appearances with the team. He also converted one of two field-goal tries and his only PAT during the Packers' wild-card round loss to Philadelphia. McManus' tenure as the starter on a high-scoring offense will keep him in the mix as a relevant fantasy option at the kicker position for the 2025 campaign.
The Packers signed McDuffie to a two-year, $8.0 million deal Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. McDuffie, a 2021 sixth-round pick from Boston College, will remain in Green Bay after spending the first four years of his career with the Packers. Under his new contract, he can earn up to $9.5 million if he reaches all incentives. The 25-year-old has played 1,150 defensive snaps and appeared in 33 regular-season games over the last two campaigns, recording 183 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, four passes defended and one forced fumble. McDuffie will likely serve as the Packers' top backup inside linebacker again in 2025, playing behind Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper.
The Packers have had conversations about trading Alexander (knee) this offseason, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Alexander is one of the league's premier cornerbacks when healthy, but injuries have limited him to less than 10 regular-season games in three of the last four seasons. The two-time Pro Bowler is currently working his way back from a knee scope undergone in early January. Alexander currently has two years remaining on his contract, but with those seasons each carrying cap hits north of $25 million, any team interested in trading for the 28-year-old would likely be motivated to restructure his deal.
