Pearsall (hamstring) worked on the side at Friday's practice and has progressed to running routes at what has seemingly been full speed, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. Pearsall remains on the active/non-football injury list, but it looks like he could be ready to be activated and resume practicing as early as next week. Once ready to retake the field, the rookie first-round pick might have an opportunity to take advantage of Brandon Aiyuk's current hold-in and get some extra first-team reps in.

Davis (ankle) is participating in training camp practices, Kym Fortino of the 49ers' official site reports. The defensive tackle suffered a high-ankle sprain last December and missed the final three weeks of the regular season and the 49ers' divisional-round playoff win over the Packers. Davis practiced before the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl but was never activated. In 2023, the rookie played on 50 defensive snaps and five special teams snaps, recording one tackle.
Hargrave (thumb) was photographed practicing at the start of 49ers training camp. Hargrave appears fully recovered from the torn ligament in his left thumb that he dealt with down the stretch in 2023. The 31-year-old defensive tackle looks fully on track to reprise his starting role up front for San Francisco. In fantasy leagues that require starting DTs, Hargrave is in the mix as an IDP option, having tallied 44 tackles (25 solo), including 7.0 sacks, and two passes defensed across 16 regular-season appearances in 2023.
The 49ers placed Williams on the reserve/did not report list Thursday. Williams has officially hit the reserve/did not report list after failing to report to camp both Wednesday and Thursday. The two sides are actively working on restructuring Williams' contract, and Jaylon Moore will continue as San Francisco's top left tackle until the situation is resolved.
The 49ers signed Turner to a one-year deal Thursday. With Trent Williams holding out, it opened up a roster spot in San Francisco. Turner appeared in three games for the Niners in 2022 but was out of the league last season after spending most of last summer with the Colts. Turner is now 28 years old and has 29 career catches across 44 contests.
Samuel appears to have lost weight during the offseason, Nick Wagoner of The Athletic reports. Samuel presumably can drop some pounds and still be by far the most powerful ballcarrier among NFL wide receivers. Assuming the weight loss was intentional, he's likely trying to improve his agility and route running, which could allow him to have more impact catching passes downfield. Samuel drew just 26 targets 10-plus yards downfield last season, compared to 46 during his 2021 breakout campaign (per PFF). He'll perhaps always be most dangerous as a runner and short-pass YAC threat, but efficiency on the deeper targets hasn't been a problem, so there's arguably still room for volume growth there. The issue, more so than Samuel's skill set, is that he's competing for touches in an offense that also WR Brandon Aiyuk, TE George Kittle and RB Christian McCaffrey. While Aiyuk may not be practicing amidst contract frustration/negotiations, it still seems more likely than not he'll be on the field for San Francisco come Week 1.
Williams (personal) didn't report to 49ers' training camp Wednesday and is in search of a restructured contract, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. According to Lombardi, Williams has no guaranteed money left on his contract and he's looking for that to be rectified. General manager John Lynch is also talking with Williams' representatives and working to resolve this issue. Jaylon Moore is expected to take snaps as San Francisco's first-team left tackle until Williams' contract situation is sorted out.
Guerendo departed Wednesday's training camp practice early due to a hamstring injury, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. The severity of Guerendo's injury isn't known, with head coach Kyle Shanahan saying that the running back will need to be evaluated further, according to Lindsey Pallares of the 49ers' official site. It's a tough start for the rookie speedster, who is working to carve out a role behind Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell. Guerendo dealt with recurring soft-tissue injuries in college, so his status will warrant close monitoring.
