Eason contributed 14 points (5-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals across 37 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Eason had trouble finding the bottom of the net in Game 6, although, to be fair, it was a common theme for the other members of the starting lineup as well. With Houston eliminated from postseason play, the 24-year-old will now turn his attention toward restricted free agency. Eason averaged 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 blocks and 1.2 steals across 25.8 minutes per game during the 2025-26 campaign. However, he logged only 60 games. With 139 appearances combined in the last three seasons, Eason will need to prove he can stay healthy. While the 2022 No. 17 overall pick should continue to hold a stable role in the rotation with the Rockets, assuming he re-signs, the lack of consistency is something fantasy managers will need to consider moving ahead.

Tari Eason : Struggles with shot in Game 6
Jabari Smith : Struggles offensively in Game 6
Smith totaled nine points (3-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and one block in 42 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Smith finished with 22 points in Game 5. However, the 22-year-old had trouble getting anything going Friday night and was unable to help his team force a Game 7. Overall, Smith had a productive season, averaging a career-best 15.8 points with 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.7 steals while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from deep across 35.1 minutes per contest. He also appeared in 77 games, his second-highest mark since entering the league in 2022. Smith, who agreed to a five-year, $122 million extension in Oct. 2025, will likely continue to hold a stable role as a starter for the Rockets moving ahead. Although he isn't the most consistent offensively, his durability and defensive prowess should continue to benefit the team during the 2026-27 campaign and beyond, assuming he remains on the roster.
Reed Sheppard : Struggles in Game 6 defeat
Sheppard totaled 10 points (4-19 FG, 1-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one assist, two blocks and two steals over 36 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Sheppard struggled offensively during Friday's loss and only reached the double-digit points mark because of his shooting volume. He finished the series having averaged 12.2 points on just 30.7 percent shooting (including 29.6 percent from three on 9.0 3PA/G) along with 4.7 assists, 1.0 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 0.8 blocks over 32.2 minutes per contest. Sheppard saw his playing time increase shortly before and during the playoffs, but his role with the Rockets for the 2026-27 season could shrink due to the return of Fred VanVleet (knee).
Amen Thompson : Team-high 18 points in Game 6 loss
Thompson accumulated 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-6 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks over 45 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Thompson did most of his scoring out of halftime, scoring 10 of his team-high 18 points in the third quarter, but the Rockets were in too much of a deficit to mount a comeback and extend the series to Game 7. The third-year pro finished the series averaging 19.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.2 blocks over 44.2 minutes per game. Thompson averaged career highs in points, assists and steals during the 2025-26 regular season and should command a sizable extension from the Rockets during the offseason.
Alperen Sengun : Double-doubles in Game 6 loss
Sengun supplied 17 points (5-12 FG, 7-10 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks and one assist across 38 minutes in Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Sengun struggled with efficiency, though that proved to be a common theme for the Rockets in their season-ending loss. The star big man still finished second on the team in scoring and led the club in rebounds en route to his third double-double of the series. He earned his second career All-Star nod in 2025-26, finishing the regular season with averages of 20.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 33.3 minutes per tilt across 72 appearances.
Kevin Durant : Out for Game 6
Durant (ankle) is listed out for Friday's Game 6 versus the Lakers. The Rockets previously listed Durant as doubtful for this contest. Houston has all the momentum in this series right now, and if they extend it to seven games, Durant's return could potentially be on the table, depending on how quickly he continues to recover.
Kevin Durant : Officially doubtful for Game 6
Durant (ankle) is officially listed as doubtful for Game 6 on Friday against the Lakers. No surprise here, as ESPN's Shams Charania reported earlier Thursday that Durant isn't expected to be available for Game 6 due to a left ankle sprain. If the Rockets extend this first-round series Friday, the superstar forward should be considered questionable at best for Game 7. Reed Sheppard and Tari Eason should continue to see heavy playing time until Durant is cleared to return.
Kevin Durant : Slated to miss Game 6
Durant (ankle) isn't in line to play Friday in Game 6 of the Rockets' first-round playoff series versus the Lakers, Shams Charania reported Thursday in an appearance on ESPN's "Get Up." Durant will be sidelined for the fifth time in six games of the series while he continues to contend with a left ankle sprain and bone bruise. According to Charania, the bone bruise is believed to be a "two-week minimum" injury for Durant, so the veteran forward may face an uphill battle to make it back on the court for a potential Game 7 on Sunday if the Rockets are able to extend the series with a win Friday. Durant's continued absence will raise the minutes floors for frontcourt mates Jabari Smith and Alperen Sengun, in addition to opening up extra run for Reed Sheppard and Tari Eason, who have both logged at least 29 minutes in each of the past three contests.
