Senga was removed from his start Friday against Atlanta due to a left calf strain. Senga went to the ground grabbing at his left calf while getting out of the way of a pop-up in the sixth inning. The Mets have yet to provide any information regarding the severity of his injury, though the right-hander was able to walk off the field under his own power. Senga was activated off the injured list earlier Friday after missing the first several months of the year due to issues with his right shoulder and triceps, and he allowed two earned runs on two hits and a walk while striking out nine batters through 5.1 frames in his season debut.
Bader (ankle) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game versus Atlanta, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Bader hasn't played since rolling his ankle in Tuesday's win over the Yankees. He remains day-to-day for now, but a stint on the injured list will have to be considered if the problem lingers. Tyrone Taylor will patrol center field again Friday.
The Mets activated Fujinami (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and designated him for assignment. It looks like Fujinami's tenure with the Mets will end before it began. The reliever was sent down to the minors after a rough spring training and missed more than a month of action with a shoulder strain. Fujinami has been on a rehab assignment and appears healthy now, but the Mets have elected to move on rather than add him to the active roster.
The Mets designated Houser for assignment Friday. Houser looked like a reasonable addition to the back-end of the Mets' rotation when they traded for him over the offseason. It didn't work out, with the 31-year-old holding an 8.55 ERA and 20:21 K:BB over 33.2 innings in seven starts. He did post a 3.28 ERA as a mop-up reliever but had allowed nine runs over nine innings this month. Houser will almost certainly clear waivers given his $5.05 million salary and should eventually become a free agent.
The Mets activated Senga (shoulder/triceps) from the 60-day injured list Friday. Senga is set to make his season debut for the Mets on Friday against Atlanta after being sidelined with right shoulder and triceps problems. The plan is for the right-hander to throw around 85 pitches or five innings Friday after he threw 79 pitches in his final rehab start.
Maton (2-2) picked up the win Thursday in a 3-2 extra-inning victory over Atlanta, throwing a scoreless 10th inning without a walk or a strikeout. The right-hander got a bit lucky in the top of the 10th -- Ramon Laureano began the frame as the phantom runner and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt, but when Atlanta tried to bring him home with a suicide squeeze, Jarred Kelenic couldn't get his bat on a Maton pitch that was nowhere near the strike zone and Laureano got caught in a rundown. Maton has been a solid addition to the Mets' bullpen so far, posting a 1.50 ERA, 0.50 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB through six innings with three holds in seven appearances, plus Thursday's win.
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's extra-inning win over Atlanta. Lindor jumped on the first pitch he saw from Chris Sale in his second at-bat and crushed it into the stands in center field for a two-run shot, giving the Mets a 2-1 lead. It marked the shortstop's fifth homer in his last four games and his ninth homer in July. He's also hit safely in 10 straight contests, batting .385 (14-for-39) over that stretch with seven extra-base hits, 14 RBI and seven runs scored.
