American Pharoah finished off his legendary career with yet another dominant victory on Saturday afternoon, going wire-to-wire at the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Keeneland. With the win, he not only wins the $5 million purse, but he becomes the first horse in thoroughbred racing history to win both the Triple Crown and the Classic, otherwise known as the “Grand Slam.”
Fans who bet on Bob Baffert’s horse probably won’t be cashing in their ticket, as its place in history is likely worth a bit more than its small payout. Nevertheless, here’s a complete look at the results and betting payouts:
