Germany, along with Frnace, are early favorites to win at EURO 2016

The field for EURO 2016 is set, as France will kick off the tournament June 10th against Romania. The 24 teams have been placed into six groups, and we’ve already begun circling matchups on our calendar (England-Wales, anyone?). We even have our Group of Death.

Now that we know the full EURO schedule, we can start plotting each team’s potential course to the final. After today’s draw France and Germany are the favorites to win EURO 2016 at 10/3 odds, courtesy of PaddyPower.com. It’s a bump for France given the field in Group A, with whom France is unbeaten against in tournament history.

Right behind the two teams is Spain, at 11/2 odds to win. Spain is the only team to repeat as EURO champions, and can claim an unprecedented third consecutive title with another win. Spain has a fairly easy road to the final, assigned to Group D with Czech Republic, Turkey, and Croatia.

Here are the odds for Europe’s top teams winning EURO 2016:

France 10/3

Germany 10/3

Spain 11/2

Belgium 11/1

Portugal 14/1

England 14/1

Italy 18/1

On the group level, all of the Pot 1 teams remain favorites to win their respective groups. The closest contender is Italy, who have 13/8 odds to overtake Belgium in Group E. Looking for an upset? Austria has 11/4 odds to win Group F, matched with an underwhelming Portugal side. Austria doesn’t have the pedigree of other European powers, but they did win nine of ten qualifying matches. In a group with Iceland and Hungary, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine Austria knocking off Portugal for the top spot in the group.
