The recording artist was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, and has received a number of awards for her talents, including seven Grammys, 17 Billboard Music Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards, nine American Music Awards, and a Guinness World Record. 2. She and Her Husband Are in the Process of Designing Their ‘Forever’ Home

According to a May article in Taste of Country Magazine, Carrie and her husband, Mike Fisher, are currently in the process of designing their dream home. Underwood told the magazine, “My husband, Mike [Fisher], and I are designing our ‘forever’ home. My must-haves are a wood-burning fireplace, a porch swing, and rocking chairs.”

In 2013, Underwood and Fisher sold their home in Ottowa, Canada, which was situated on an 11-acre estate. The house included an indoor fireplace, home theater, gym, wine cellar, triple-car garage, and large walk-in closets, according to Nash Country Daily. They built the home in 2010, shortly after marrying.

3. She Performs the ‘Sunday Night Football’ Theme Song

Underwood sings the Sunday Night Football (SNF) theme song, titled “Oh, Sunday” based on the 2014 song, Somethin’ Bad, which she originally performed with Miranda Lambert. Before the song was released, the LA Times wrote, “With lots of enthusiastic requests for the listeners to ‘stomp your feet, start clapping,’ the song seems like it will easily translate into an anthem for prime time football.”

Carrie has been performing the SNF song since 2013. Before that, Faith Hill and Pink’s single, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night”, introduced football fans to the evening’s game.

In June, Underwood told the Hollywood Reporter she was excited to begin filming the new intro, because it often means getting the chance to meet the athletes and their girlfriends, some of whom are Carrie’s biggest supporters. Underwood tells the Hollywood Reporter, “I feel like every time I see Andrew Luck, he’s like, ‘My girlfriend loves you!'”

4. Her First Single Sold 170,000 Copies in the First Week

Underwood’s first single, “Inside Your Heaven”, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and sold over 170,000 copies within the first week of its release. According to Coed, the single’s success “added $1 million to her bank roll.” The outlet also reports that Carrie’s two hit singles, “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Before He Cheats”, have sold 9 million copies, and raked in an estimated $10 million total for the singer.

This year, Underwood was named one of Times Magazine‘s most influential people, along with a host of celebrated leaders like Pope Francis, Malala Yousafzai, Vladimir Putin, and Beyonce. The magazine told People that this year, they tried to focus on “figures whose influence is likely to grow, so we can look around the corner to see what is coming.”

Each honoree is introduced by a guest contributor, and Brad Paisley honored Underwood. Paisley wrote, “It’s her decency as a person that’s so impressive. So many young girls want to be just like her. In that sense, I see hope for the world. If I had a daughter, nothing would make me happier than to hear her say she wanted to grow up to be like Carrie Underwood.”
