Hamill returns at UFC 152
Light heavyweight Matt Hamill is returning to the sport of mixed martial arts after a year of retirement.
“The Hammer” will meet Roger Hollett at UFC 152 this September in Canada.
Yahoo! Sports reported the match up earlier today.
Hamill retired following losses to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Alexander Gustafsson. He was very successful prior to the consecutive losses, winning five straight fights.
He is the only fighter to win against Jon Jones, though the highly-controversial victory came due to a disqualification. Jones was disqualified because of illegal elbows, though Hamill was getting beat badly prior to the stoppage.
Meanwhile, Hollett has won five in a row and will be making his UFC debut at the event. He last fought under the Bellator banner, but just managed a victory, earning a narrow split-decision nod from the judges.
UFC 152 is set for September 22 in Toronto. The card features a flyweight title bout between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson.
