The Bryan Harsin era of Auburn Tigers football kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 4, when they host the Akron Zips at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
In 2021, Auburn games will be televised on either ABC, CBS, ESPN, ESPN2 or SEC Network, while one game won’t be on TV but will stream live on SEC Network+ and ESPN+.

For the one game that is on SEC Network+ (which is different from the regular SEC Network TV channel), you can watch via the ESPN website or ESPN app if you log-in to a cable provider or streaming service that includes the SEC Network, but if you don’t have that, you can also watch the game with a subscription to ESPN+:

Auburn 2021 Season Preview
The Tigers stumbled to a 6-5 mark in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, posting their worst winning percentage since they went 7-6 in 2015, Gus Malzahn’s third year as head coach.
The school dismissed Malzahn weeks ahead of the team’s 35-19 loss to the Northwestern Wildcats in the Citrus Bowl, then tapped Boise State Broncos head coach Bryan Harsin to replace him over the offseason.
Harsin will be joined by a pair of new coordinators: former South Carolina Gamecocks offensive coordinator Mike Bobo will hold the same role with Auburn and former Vanderbilt Commodores head coach Derek Mason will helm the defense.
With a revamped coaching staff, quarterback Bo Nix offers some stability. A starter in each of the past two seasons, the junior appears to have narrowly edged out LSU Tigers transfer TJ Finley for the opening-day nod under center.
Last year, Nix completed 59.9 percent of his passes for 2,415 yards, 12 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, adding 388 yards and 7 more touchdowns on the ground.
“Bo’s a hard worker,” Harsin said on the SEC Network in August, according to Saturday Down South. “That’s the first thing and I love that about any player that I get a chance to coach. He does it in the weight room, he does it on the practice field, he does it in the film room. And that’s really all we ask from every single guy on our team.
“You’re coming in here and you’re willing to work hard at bettering yourself, developing yourself at this craft, especially the quarterback position. You want guys to work hard. I think he’s very tough and he showed that through spring.”
Defensively, the Tigers will have experience on their side. Nine of the 11 projected starters are upperclassmen, including last year’s sack leaders — linebacker Owen Pappoe and defensive end Derick Hall (4 apiece) — and cornerback Roger McCreary, who pulled down a team-high 3 interceptions a season ago.
Despite the experience, the defense will look quite different. Three projected starters — safety Bydarrius Knighten and tackles Tony Fair and Marcus Harrison — are new to the team, having transferred from other programs. And with Mason replacing Kevin Steele, the unit will switch from a 4-3 front to a 3-4.
Nix said that McCreary and Smoke Monday, a senior safety, will serve as stabilizing forces on that side of the ball.
“Obviously, we have a few new guys that will be making their first starts and first playing time,” he said, according to 247 Sports, “but it will be easier with those guys back there with them.”
