Rice is likely facing a multi-game suspension for his involvement in a car crash in late March, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Rice left the scene of a six-car accident on a Dallas highway and now faces charges for aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury and collision involving injury. While he figures to be suspended at some point, the NFL typically allows legal processes to play out before doling out league punishment, which means it's possible Rice is on the field come Week 1.

Rashee Rice Latest News
Likely to be suspended
Rice is likely facing a multi-game suspension for his involvement in a car crash in late March, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Rice left the scene of a six-car accident on a Dallas highway and now faces charges for aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury and collision involving injury. While he figures to be suspended at some point, the NFL typically allows legal processes to play out before doling out league punishment, which means it's possible Rice is on the field come Week 1.
Expected to participate in virtual meetings
Coach Andy Reid indicated Monday that Rice is expected to remotely participate in the initial stage of the Chiefs' voluntary offseason program via virtual meetings, NFL.com reports. Per Adam Teicher of ESPN.com, Rice -- who is is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury stemming from his involvement in a car crash in Dallas last month -- turned himself in to police last week and was subsequently released on bond. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the league has been closely monitoring developments related to the incident, while Reid noted that it remains to be seen whether the wideout will participate later in the spring when the team's offseason program moves to Kansas City. "I want to keep gathering the information from the law enforcement people,'" Reid said Monday. "We'll just see where everything goes from there (and) let the process take place."
Arrest warrant issued
An arrest warrant for Rice has been issued stemming from a March 30 chain-reaction collision on a Dallas highway that involved a vehicle the wide receiver was driving, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports. The report adds that Rice now faces eight counts -- aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury -- as a result of the incident, which left four people with minor injuries. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the league has been closely monitoring developments regarding the incident, with previous reports relaying that Rice intended to continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities.
Cooperating with police
Rice's attorney said Monday that the wide receiver is cooperating with police after a vehicle registered to him was involved in a multi-car crash Saturday evening, Jamie Stengle of The Associated Press reports. It isn't yet clear if Rice was in one of the two cars responsible for causing a six-car crash. If so, he could face criminal charges, as drivers and passengers from a Lamborghini SUV and a Corvette allegedly left the scene of the accident without providing information or seeing if anyone needed medical attention. The crash isn't believed to have involved any serious injuries, though two occupants of another vehicle were taken to a hospital for further attention.
Sought after in crash investigation
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that police in the area of Dallas, Texas, are searching for Rice in their investigation of a major traffic collision Saturday. The accident occurred at about 6:20 Central time Saturday evening, and it is unclear whether anyone was hurt in the crash or to what extent Rice was involved. An ESPN report cites the Dallas Morning News in explaining that a vehicle involved in the collision is believed to be registered to, or leased to, the Kansas City receiver, though the report also notes that Rice did not appear in Dallas County jail records as of Sunday morning and that it is unclear whether he is facing charges. Rice grew up in the Dallas area and attended SMU in Dallas before being drafted by the Chiefs in 2023.
Salvages day with TD
The receiving yards were his lowest of the season, but the rookie wideout still made an impact by taking a screen pass from Patrick Mahomes for an 11-yard TD in the first quarter. Rice has three of his four touchdowns on the season in the last five games as he emerges as Mahomes' most reliable option not named Travis Kelce, and his target volume could begin to rise coming out of Kansas City's Week 10 bye.
