The 28-year-old wideout played all six seasons of his NFL career in a Cowboys uniform, and injuries seemed to derail him after a promising 66-1,107-6 receiving line in Year 2. Former teammate Dak Prescott praised Gallup following his retirement, per Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site, saying "he was huge for my career."

With Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers locked in as the Raiders' top pass catchers, Gallup will compete with the likes of Tre Tucker and DJ Turner, among others, for the No. 3 pass-catching role.

In what has been rumored to be Gallup's fate this offseason, Dallas has decided to move on from the 2018 third-round pick. Using a mechanism available to them, the Cowboys have designated the move as a post-June 1 cut, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com, which will save them $9.5 million in 2024 but add $8.7 million in dead cap next year. Gallup has one big season on his resume -- 1,107 receiving yards back in 2019 -- but he's failed to surpass 500 such yards in each of the past three seasons while playing 40 of 51 possible regular-season games.
Dak Prescott spread the ball around in the rout and completed passes to 10 different Cowboys, but Gallup was one of the six who has only one reception. The veteran wideout was also on the field for a season-low 18 snaps on offense as younger options like Jalen Tolbert (20 snaps) and Jalen Brooks (six snaps) see their roles grow. Gallup hasn't caught more than three passes in a game since Week 4 and has topped 31 receiving yards only once in that stretch. While every Dallas receiver has some big-play potential given how hot Prescott is right now, it would likely take an injury or two for Gallup's volume to increase significantly.
Despite the fact that Dak Prescott attempted 44 passes and threw for 374 yards, Gallup was barely involved in the offense once again. The veteran wideout hasn't reached 25 receiving yards in four straight games, and there's little reason to expect better numbers in Week 10 against the Giants given that the Cowboys barely needed to throw the ball at all the first time these teams met this season, in a 40-0 rout for Dallas in Week 1.
Gallup saw his playing time dialed back in last Sunday's win over the Rams, playing a season-low 51 percent of the offensive snaps, as Jalen Tolbert saw increased work behind CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. Gallup has failed to crack 24 yards in any of his last three games and in five of seven games overall. With that in mind, he's off the fantasy radar outside of deeper leagues.
Provided Gallup isn't dealing with anything more than a cold or minor bug, he should have a good chance to play Sunday in Philadelphia. He'll have opportunities to practice again Thursday and Friday and put himself in position to play this weekend.
