The Vikings waived Jones from the practice squad Thursday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports. Jones and running back DeWayne McBride will cede their spots on the Vikings' practice squad to tackle Ricky Lee and running back Zavier Scott. Jones signed with Minnesota in April as an undrafted free agent, but he wasn't able to survive the training camp roster cuts after registering four catches (on eight targets) for 53 yards across three preseason games. Jones will look to catch onto a practice squad elsewhere.
Sticks around in Minnesota
Jones signed with the Vikings' practice squad Wednesday, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports. Jones signed with the Vikings in April as an undrafted free agent. The Maryland product wasn't able to make the 53-man roster after finishing the preseason with four catches (on eight targets) for 53 yards across three games. Jones will stay ready for a promotion to Minnesota's active roster during the 2024 season.
