The Chargers waived Perez on Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. After playing in the UFL, Perez signed with the Chargers earlier this month. He completed just 18 of 32 passes for 139 yards (4.3 YPA) this preseason with no touchdowns. It wasn't enough to win a spot on the 53-man roster behind Justin Herbert.
