Paul W.S. Anderson, director of Death Race and Resident Evil, has made plans to recreate classic swashbuckling tale The Three Musketeers. He plans to write, direct and independently finance the film. Only his plan is to do it in 3D, Cinematical.com reports.
However, there’s a nemesis nearby. Sherlock Holmes producer Lionel Wigram also wants to do the remake. His plan is to hire either Mr and Mrs Smith director Doug Liman or… Marley and Me director David Frankel?
It’s pretty clear that one option might garner a decent film, while the other might wind up with something like the Disney adaptation starring Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen and Oliver Platt.
