Alicia DiMichele Garofalo, Mob Wives: Top 10 Facts You Need to Know

(Twitter)

Alicia DiMichele Garofalo is on the new season of Mob Wives and she’s all anyone can talk about. Besides being a hot, strong, fiery woman whose husband is in jail, she brings something new to the table … She’s a gangster too! Check out the Top 10 Facts on her new spot on the show, her current legal troubles, her husband, and some other things that will shock you.

1. Alicia Brings ‘New Blood’ to the Mob Wives Cast

This season of Mob Wives is titled Mob Wives: New Blood, bringing two new women to the crew. One of them is Alicia DiMichele Garofalo. Check out this video of Alicia to get to know her a little better.

Unfortunately, fame comes with a price. Though Alicia pockets $8,000 an episode, the police now want some of her paycheck because they believe she is prospering by “glorifying organized crime”. The NY Daily News reports:

DiMichele’s bottom line has grown enough for her to pay a $96,000 fine and $20,000 in restitution when she’s sentenced Monday for embezzling union funds from the trucking company she once co-owned with her mob enforcer hubby Edward.

Prosecutors requested to the judge:

The defendant’s decision to participate in and profit from a television show that glorifies organized crime and those who participate in it, and demonizes the government for prosecuting these individuals, including (DiMichele), demonstrates that she fails to appreciate the seriousness of the charged crime and her life choices … To allow her to profit from such an endeavor…would be a manifest injustice. Accordingly she should not retain any of her earnings (from the show).

One thing Mob Wives fans may not be happy about is what DiMichele’s lawyer has to say in response. He flat out calls the fans of Mob Wives people with no lives.

In reality, the show is about a group of women, loosely connected by their so-called affiliation with organized crime, arguing and fighting amongst themselves over petty grievances for the viewing pleasure of people who have no lives of their own … Far from glorifying “mob life”, Ms. DiMichele makes clear in the show that she is devastated by the position she finds herself in, and regrets what she has done.

2. Her Husband Edward Was Just Sent to Prison

(Twitter)

Garofalo’s husband Edward was just sentenced to 7 years in prison for extortion. Edward “The Tall Guy” Garofalo Jr. is a gangster for the Colombo crime family. Radar Online reports that the trial was took place yesterday and Edward pleaded guilty.

3. Alicia Has Her Own Trial to Worry About

According to Radar Online:

Alicia has her own trial coming up. She’s out on bail on embezzlement charges connected with the trucking business she and Garofalo ran.

Apparently Alicia has already plead guilty to the charges, so who knows what kind of sentence she will receive. Her trial date is set for January 6, 2014. Alicia tells Radar:

I am very nervous … But I’m a very positive person and I’m just thinking completely positive and I don’t even let my mind go towards the negative side. I put everything in God’s hands and I have faith and I’m hoping that it’ll all work out for the best and that I’m not taken away from my children.

As far as how Alicia got into this mess with her husband, The NY Post reports:

Like other mobsters, Garofalo had put almost everything in his wife’s name. In the hole for hundreds of thousands of dollars owed to casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, DiMichele filed for bankruptcy in 2002. She took a sales job at Bizarre Video, a porno-film-production company in New York with reported mob links that describes itself as “the largest fetish company in the world.” Apparently, she did well, because a year later she and her husband were the proprietors of a trucking company. DiMichele and Garofalo used that business and other Colombo-controlled shell companies to submit false documents to hide the theft of benefits from members of Teamsters Local 282, the feds say.

4. The Mob Wives Star’s Father-in-Law Was Murdered by a Cast-Mate’s Father

(Twitter)

Karen Gravano used to be a prominent face on the show Mob Wives. This season, Karen is not on the show … which may be a very good thing. New cast member Alicia has a deadly bone to pick with Karen, whose father is Sammy the Bull. Sammy is a famous informant who was a “rat,” meaning he was a mobster who turned on all his buddies. As a member of the mob, Sammy the Bull committed many murders, one of which was Alicia DeMichele Garofalo’s father-in-law.

Garofalo makes it very clear to the rest of the women on the show that she has it in for Karen because of what her father did. Veteran cast members Renee Graziano, Drita D’Avanzo, and Big Ang, however, will not abandon their friendship with Karen despite Alicia’s upset.

I wonder if Karen will make an appearance on the show this season, just to shake things up with Alicia …

5. Alicia Is Allegedly Cheating on Her Husband

According to Page Six, Alicia DiMichele Garofalo is being unfaithful to her incarcerated husband. A “reliable source” states:

Alicia has been having an affair with a Philadelphia restaurateur who’s a convicted felon, and it has become common knowledge among their circle of friends. [The restaurant owner’s] wife even seems to tolerate them as a couple. [Neighbors] see his car parked outside Alicia’s house almost nightly, and he’s been seen sneaking out in the early morning hours on many occasions.

Celeb Dirty Laundry reports:

Alicia and this guy have been hot and heavy since her husband “went away” as they say in Jersey. For 3 years now this guy has been her late night booty call and they have a circle of friends that is well aware of their scandalous relationship. Supposedly he’s still married but even his wife doesn’t care about his cheating.

Neither Alicia nor her reps have confirmed these rumors.

6. DiMichele Has More Legal Problems Than You May Know

(Instagram)

The NY Post has reported on DiMichele’s alleged involvement in litigation with Gucci over her supposedly selling counterfeit baby clothes at boutiques she owns in South Jersey and Philadelphia. The news source writes:

Alicia DiMichele, a star of the upcoming season of VH1’s “Mob Wives,” is peddling baby clothes and accessories emblazoned with logos and fabrics associated with Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Burberry at her Addiction Boutiques in South Jersey and Philadelphia.

In September, 2013 The NY Post gave details of what items were under investigation.

At her Philly shop last week, a mannequin wore a fake Burberry-tie onesie and held a faux Gucci baby bib. Each cost $45. Her Cherry Hill shop showed $25 bows bearing Gucci and Vuitton logos. Gucci is involved in litigation over the bibs DiMichele sells, a source said.

7. Social Media Is Not Alicia’s Friend

We all post photos and info about ourselves online, but when you’re awaiting trial, it’s not always the best thing to do. Reality Tea writes:

Alicia DiMichele Garofalo doesn’t realize that “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” only if you’re not posting pictures of yourself in Sin City every five seconds. This is especially true if you told a judge that the only reason you’d need to travel outside of the New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania area to which an arrest kept you quarantined is to visit your son in college in West Virginia.

As Alicia awaits her trial, she was given travel restrictions by the judge. Apparently, Alicia requested that her travel ban be lifted so that she could visit her son at college, but it looks like that’s not the only place Alicia wanted to go. Alicia’s request read:

More importantly, because my son will be in Morgantown, West Virginia, I need the ability to travel on very short notice in the event of an emergency. I do not intend to travel regularly, except to visit with my son for brief periods.

Yikes!

8. Garofalo’s New Cast-Mates Are Giving Her Support

Through all of Garofalo’s legal troubles, the Mob Wives are sticking by her. Check out this photo of Big Ang rocking a shirt from one of Garogalo’s boutiques.

9. The Addiction Boutique Is the Name of Alicia’s Store

The Addiction boutique is what started a lot of Alicia’s troubles in her designer counterfeit case. Not only can you shop at its two locations, you can also shop online. The store carries womens clothing and even has some cute items. You can also buy a Mob Wives “Team Alicia” shirt there.

10. Alicia DiMichele Garofalo Is Also Known as ‘Wise Gal’

Allegedly, the cops refer to Alicia as “Wise Gal.” She even talked about it on the season premiere of Mob Wives: New Blood. The NY Post reports:

Alicia is an equal partner with her hubby, Edward “Tall Guy” Garofalo Jr., according to the feds — a “wise gal” helping to blaze a trail for other women hoping to enter the profession. Brooklyn federal prosecutors say the “mobette” — a 38-year-old mother of three — helped the Colombos embezzle union pension and benefit-plan money while working at mob-controlled construction companies.

Apparently, Garofalo’s own crimes are the reason for her nickname. Traditionally, spouses of gangsters were not involved in the day-to-day criminal activities, so Garofalo’s involvement is a rarity.
