SpongeBob and his buddies are gonna make a return to movie theaters in a new film produced by Nickelodeon. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water will feature everyone who hangs out with that dude who lives in a pineapple under the sea. Plus young fans (and probably much older ones) will get introduced to a new baddie – Burger-Beard the Pirate (voiced by Antonio Banderas).
The trailer seen above showcases SpongeBob and his band of allies as they transition into the real world. They’re all on a journey to retrieve a stolen recipe that’s in the hands of an evil pirate. SpongeBob taps into his superhero powers, as well as his friends who all look to recover this amazing recipe. You can also watching each character’s super alter ego in action – SpongeBob Squarepants as Mr. Superawsomeness, Sandy as herself, Mr. Krabs as the Iron Man-like Sir Pinch-a-lot, Plankton as a yet unknown Hulk-like superhero and Squidward as Sour Note.
