WWE Hell in a Cell 2014 Preview: Matchups & Predictions

The most demonic structure to ever be built within the WWE will be the main topic of discussion on October 26, 2014. WWE Hell in a Cell 2014 will be headlined by two major feuds that will hopefully culminate in that massive steel structure.

Besides those two huge bouts, a slew of other matches will be taking place. Two behemoths will be engaging in a rematch of epic proportions, twin sisters will battle and the loser will become a servant, the United States Championship is on the line and much more will go down. This October special event match card is full of big time matches that will push us closer to the definite end of some of these feuds.

Here’s our preview and match predictions for WWE Hell in a Cell 2014!

Goldust and Stardust (c) vs. The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) (WWE Tag Team Championship)

Predictions & Winner: The twisted and out-of-this-world tandem of Goldust and Stardust finally captured the “cosmic key” aka the Tag Team straps at Night of Champions 2014. They’ve turned into a much darker version of themselves and stole the titles away from the Uso brothers. We loved the 1st tag team championship bout between both teams and we’re looking forward to their title rematch. Over the past couple of weeks, The Usos have walked out as the victors during 6-man bouts against the Dust Brothers. Don’t let this current mean streak that the Usos are on fool you, though. Stardust and Goldust will retain the titles here and have another awesome match with their bitter rivals. We have a feeling that both teams will be staring each other down with their chosen allies at next month’s Survivor Series.

Big Show vs. Rusev

Predictions & Winner: The initial bout between these two giants ended in controversy. Rusev looked close to tapping out Show while he had him locked in his Accolade submission hold, but Mark Henry interfered and stopped that from occurring. Henry was unable to vanquish the Russian “Super Athlete” once before, which is why Big Show has taken his spot in hopes of breaking Rusev’s undefeated streak. We think Rusev still has a lot of steam left in his dominating run and we don’t see him taking that 1st L anytime soon. Big Show doesn’t need the win anyway. It’s time to keep Rusev’s push intact with more wins over men on his level and around his stature. Rusev takes the win here and we see him capturing the U.S. championship to really put his Anti-U.S. run over the top. This match will be a plodding but hard hitting affair, which we expect Rusev to prevail in.

Sheamus (c) vs. The Miz (WWE United States Championship)

Predictions & Winner: The Miz has veered away from rival Dolph Ziggler and the Intercontinental Championship. His eyes are now set on capturing the United States Championship, which is currently being held by the powerful Sheamus. Miz has gotten over on Sheamus on two occasions during their previous encounters. While this all may paint Miz as the eventual victor of this upcoming title bout, we’re going to have to side with Sheamus on this one. Sheamus will retain here and put down both Miz and his trusty stunt double Damian Sandow. Why do we think this? Because we envision WWE’s November 2014 event featuring a much-anticipated title bout between Sheamus and Rusev for the U.S. strap. Sorry, Miz. You’re an afterthought in this match…

Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella (Loser must become the winner’s personal assistant)

Predictions & Winner: We’re going to be completely honest with you guys – this feud SUCKS! We hate both Bella Twins and we could care less about what they do now or in the future. This match is the definition of a bathroom break. Who wins? Give it to the evil twin sister Nikki. This feud is going to continue (much to our displeasure…) and the only way to do so is by letting the pissed off twin with extra boobage get the win. Let’s not waste anymore time on this horrible matchup, folks…

Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Cesaro (2-out-of-3 falls match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Predictions & Winner: Ziggler and Cesaro are going to war in this 2-out-of-3 falls title match. We’re super excited about this potential match of the night. Ziggler’s swiftness against Cesaro’s strength is a great mixture that’s capable of delivering an even more awesome match with more time. Here’s out predictions for this bout: Cesaro nabs the 1st fall, Ziggler captures the fall and the ultimate victor of this match and 3rd fall winner is…Ziggler! Ziggler’s been on a pretty quite but still solid championship run these past few months. We feel he still has some steam left and this beef with Cesaro must continue. Ziggler retains in an incredible bout, but we think Cesaro will get his rematch sooner rather than later.

AJ Lee (c) vs. Paige (WWE Divas Champion

Predictions & Winner: Ever since Paige made her arrival to the main roster after WrestleMania XXX, she’s been embroiled in a WWE Divas Championship war with AJ Lee. Over the past few months, both women have engaged in the type of “frenemy” wars most unstable chicks are known for getting into. This newly added title contest to the Hell in a Cell card has a new wrinkle to it – Paige may have the support of another crazy diva named Alicia Fox. AJ doesn’t have many allies in her corner for this match, but we have a feeling that she’ll retain her much-coveted title. AJ will eke out another win against her bitter rival and retain the title. The big question coming out of this contest is “Who’s next up for Divas Championship contention?” We don’t see too many viable Divas contenders on the WWE roster right now, to be quite honest…

John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Hell in a Cell Match; winner becomes the new #1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

Predictions & Winner: The last time these two bitter rivals engaged in a war in the Hell in a Cell was back in 2009. During that epic encounter, Orton took the W and captured the WWE Championship. Now we have arrived in 2014 and both men are heading back in the huge cage for a 2nd encounter. We really don’t see the point for this match other than adding another match to the long feud that’s been brewing between Cena and Orton for years. So who wins here? Well, we do envision both warriors tearing into each other and giving the crowd a match to remember. We think Cena will walk away with a win here, which will make up for his loss to Orton back in their 2009 Hell in a Cell bout. From here, we see Cena looking forward to Survivor Series for another championship opportunity against “The Beast” Brock Lesnar.

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (Hell in a Cell Match)

Predictions & Winner: These two former Shield allies are heading into the Cell for a huge finale (we’re totally expecting this rivalry to come to an end here). We see this as being the best match of the evening. Ever since the breakup of The Shield, Ambrose and Rollins have had some hugely entertaining fights that have erupted into chaos. Rollins won’t have such easy access to his allies since he’s locked in the Hell in a Cell with his mortal enemy Ambrose. Ambrose is most definitely gonna tear Rollins apart and punish him within the confines of the Hell in a Cell. We still see some type of interference occurring on behalf of The Authority, though. We see Cena making a run-in to aid Ambrose, even though both men aren’t exactly pen pals. Ambrose wins and finally prevails over Rollins and The Authority. What’s next for Ambrose after this match, in our opinion? Let him go for the Intercontinental Championship. Move him away from Rollins for a while and give him something else to go crazy over.
