Top 10 Best Movie Trailers of 2014

5. Furious 7

When we got wind of this trailer finally hitting the web, we counted down the days till it launched. We definitely weren’t disappointed by the opening moments of this road-filled madness. Everything about this trailer got us even more excited to witness the next installment of The Fast & Furious series. Dwayne Johnson totally ripped off an arm cast and sprayed down some unseen goons with a chain gun. And that wasn’t even the best parts of this explosive trailer!

4. Birdman

This short teaser did enough to peak our interest in whatever this film entailed. The slower rendition of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy,” which was coupled with slow burn that started with Michael Keaton pacing around backstage pulled us in. Birdman was one of 2014’s finest cinematic releases and this teaser did a fine job of displaying its expected greatness. We laughed just as hard as you did when Michael Keaton and Edward Norton got in a half-naked wrestling match.

3. The Avengers: Age of Ultron

Remember when this thing initally leaked before its release date? Marvel Studios blamed Hydra, we laughed our asses off and thanked Hydra for the 1st time in our our nerdy lives. The extended trailer gave fans a look at The Avengers trying to lift Thor’s mighty hammer, which segues perfectly into Ultron’s prophetic speech. The Hulkbuster vs. Hulk battle and first hints of Quicksilver’s super speed got use extra hype for 2015’s Marvel Studios opus.

2. Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens

We admit to jumping out of our seat at the sight of that helmet-less Stormtrooper popping up. Every bit of this teaser gave us hope that Disney and J.J. Abrams can make Star Wars awesome again. The cool as hell looking Sith lightsaber, Millennium Falcon appearance and good ol’ fashioned font for the movie title did so much for us. The Force Awakens is one of our most anticipated films for the new year. We’re pretty sure the next full trailer will make the world stop.

1. Godzilla

Several movie-goers may have been disappointed by how little they saw of Godzilla in his 2014 film. It seems like the full trailer for this film made the big lizard look better than the full film he starred in. The images of his widespread destruction and his all-too familiar monster screech kicked so much ass. Brian Cranston passionate pleas for an explanation of what’s really happening coupled with the soldiers floating through the sky with red billowing smoke behind them blew our minds. Godzilla (GOJIRA!) reigned supreme in this powerful trailer.
