WWE Fastlane 2015: The Results & Highlights You Need to Know


We’re riding on the drama filled road that will end when the WWE arrives at WrestleMania 31. The Superstars and Divas of the WWE will engage in a new PPV – Fastlane. This 1st installment will feature a nice offering of championship bouts and an intense face off that we’re highly anticipating. Here are the results and highlights straight from WWE Fastlane 2015.


Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan & Ryback vs. Seth Rollins, Kane & Big Show (with J&J Security)

Winners: Seth Rollins, Kane & Big Show!

Results/Highlights: Ziggler and Rollins started the match off. An intense lock up sessions began between both men, which led to a quick game of who could get the upper hand. Ziggler jumped into Rollins, but Rollins caught him an a powerbomb position. Ziggler countered by rolling over and almost rolling up Rollins for the win. Rollins kicked out and dodged a super kick, then left the ring. Back in the ring, Ziggler managed to put down Rollins with a beautiful dropkick. Rowan got tagged in and began to go to work on Rollins. Rowan landed a nice Pump Handle Backbreaker and elbow drop on Rollins. Rollins managed to escape Rowan’s wrath and tag in Kane. Kane ran into a nice body slam from Rowan, which was followed by a top rope shoulder block. Kane shook off all that damage and tagged in Show. Show landed a few strikes and received a few from Rowan, but both men soon fell out of the ring. Rowan went to fend off J&J Security and then looked to land his spinning kick on Show. Show dodged at the last second, which led to Rowan injuring his leg by hitting the steel ring post. Show threw Rowan back into the ring to work on Rowan’s injured limb. Kane got the tag and helped his team further tear down Rowan’s leg. Rollins soon made his way into the ring and worked over Rowan’s leg, too. Rowan tried to fight back, but Rollins put him down with a top rope Blockbuster. He only managed to get a 2-count, though. Show got back in and laid in some stiff strikes to Rowan. Show broke out his unique submission hold to injure Rowan even more. Show released the hold and went for a Chokeslam on Rowan, but Rowan countered with a huge DDT. Show got back to his feet and tagged in Rollins. Rollins kicked Ziggler off the ring, but Rowan laid out Rollins with his spinning kick. Rowan tagged in Ryback, who went to town on Rollins. Ryback powerbombed Rollins and used his Meat Hook lariat to lay out Kane. J&J Security got involved to distract Ryback, which helped Rollins land a nice Super Kick. Rollins went for a top rope maneuver but he got caught in a Shell Shock BY Ryback. Before Ryback could pin Rollins, Show landed a big splash on Ryback. Ryback tagged in Ziggler, who went crazy attacking Kane and Show. Ziggler landed his biggest moves on Kane and even Rollins. While Ziggler tried attacking Kane in the corner, Show snuck behind the ref and landed his KO Punch on Ziggler. Kane finished off Ziggler with a Chokeslam for the win. After the match, Rollins landed a Curb Stomp on Ziggler & Rowan while Kane and Show chokeslammed Ryback. All of a sudden, Randy Orton returned to fend off The Authority. Orton landed RKO’s on Kane and J&J Security. He almost beat down Rollins, but Show saved him and helped him escape. Rollins exited the arena while Orton taunted him in the ring.


Goldust vs. Stardust

Winner: Goldust!

Results/Highlights: Stardust and Goldust locked up, but the crowd distracted Stardust with chants of Cody. Goldust looked to shake Stardust’s hand, but Stardust kicked his hand away. Goldust began to get the better of his brother in a series of move exchanges. Stardust looked to put down his brother with a kick to the gut, but Goldust eventually countered him and looked to land his big finish. Stardust escaped to the outside of the ring. Dusty could be seen backstage watching the match unfold. Back in the ring, Goldust continued to best his brother and knocked him out of the ring again. Stardust and Goldust restarted their intense bout with exchanges of their signature palm/foot strikes. Stardust was forced to retreat once again after Goldust looked to land his Golden Globes move in the corner. Stardust eventually got the upper hand by kicking his brother in the gut as he came off the top rope. Stardust worked over Goldust with a leg lock around his waist for a while, then he dropped him to the mat with a front suplex. Stardust pulled off a cartwheel to show off before he threw Goldust back first into the corner of the ring. Stardust pulled off that same throw in the corner move a second time and locked him in a submission hold once again. Goldust looked to get back into the match with his reverse elbow, but Stardust dodged him at the last minute. Stardust looked to land his finisher on Goldust, but Goldust managed to lock him up with a surprise pin. It’s interesting to note that the ref clearly made a mistake during his 1-2-3 count, which the crowd picked up on. After the match, Goldust finally made Stardust shake his hand.


The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) (c) (with Naomi) vs. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd (with Natalya) (WWE Tag Team Championship)

Winners: The new WWE Tag Team Champions, Cesaro and Tyson Kidd!

Results/Highlights: Kidd and Jey began things with a lock-up exchange. Jey got the better of him with an elbow strike and a body slam. Jimmy got tagged inn and helped land a nice tag team maneuver to Kidd. After several stiff chops, Jimmy hit a corkscrew splash to Kidd. Kidd got thrown into the ropes and managed to quickly tag in Cesaro, who helped Kidd chop Jimmy’s legs to put him down. Cesaro pushed Jimmy into his team’s corner, which saw Jimmy attempt to fight both men off. Kidd got the last laugh by landing a Dragon Screw on Jimmy’s injured leg on the rope. Afterwards, Cesaro and Kidd continued to work over Jimmy’s injured limb. Cesaro even locked in a Single Leg Crab and swing him around while holding him by his leg. Kidd came into the ring with a springboard leg drop on the back of Jimmy’s head to continue hurting him. Jimmy eventually to get to his feet and tag in Jey. Jey went into overdrive mode and beat down Cesaro. Jimmy had to kick Kidd off the ring apron before he went back to work on a weakened Cesaro. Jey went to the top rope, but Cesaro caught him with a top rope superplex that was finished off with a Kidd Springboard Elbow Drop. They only got a 2-count, though. Kidd went for his Sharpshooter on Jey, but Jey fought out of it and helped his brother land a double Samoan Drop on Kidd. Jimmy stayed in the ring to further beat down Kidd, but things went off the rails as the action spilled to the outside. Kidd even got dropped back first into the crowd barrier by Jimmy. Back in the ring, Kidd countered a Superfly Splash from Jimmy and soon locked him into his Sharpshooter. Jey saved his brother by superkicking Kidd, but Cesaro followed him in and pushed him out of the ring. Jimmy and Kidd slowly got back to their feet, but as everyone returned inside the ring. Jimmy Superkicked Cesaro out of the ring, but Jimmy was put down with Kidd’s spinning neckbreaker soon after. Kidd finally pinned Jimmy for the win.


Triple H Confronts Sting, Face to Face

Highlights: HHH came out with his street fight gear and an intense look on his face. HHH told the crowd that he arrived as the heartbeat of the WWE and the undisputed “King of Kings.” He screamed for Sting’s appearance. Sting’s music finally hit and he entered the arena to a loud applause from the excited crowd. Both men engaged in an intense stare off. HHH broke the ice and told Sting about his failure as a loyal soldier for WCW. HHH reminded Sting that hi s role as a WWE backer helped put WCW out of business. HHH told Sting that failing is just what Sting is good at. Sting looked on quietly as HHH made him an offer to do business together and keep his legacy alive. HHH’s spoke about further avenues of merchandise for Sting that would make him even more revered than he’s ever been before. HHH seemingly got frustrated as he threatened Sting with a severe beating. HHH gave Sting the choice to do what’s best for business or fight him instead. HHH went for a cheap shot on Sting, but sting punched him back down. HHH then put sting down by hitting him with the live mic. HHH then began putting the boots to Sting. HHH picked up his sledgehammer for great measure. Sting surprised HHH with his steel bat, which made HHH cower in fear. Sting made HHH drop his sledgehammer. Sting then pointed to the WrestleMania 31 sign, which signified that Sting wanted to face HHH at the big show. HHH tried to run up on Sting, but Sting cracked him with his bat and finished him off with his patented Scorpion Death Drop. Sting vs. HHH was later confirmed for WrestleMania 31.

Nikki Bella (c) (with Brie Bella) vs. Paige (WWE Divas Championship)

Winner: And still the WWE Divas Champion, Nikki Bella!

Results/Highlights: Paige and Nikki ran right into each other and rolled all over the ring before Nikki managed to hop out of the ring. Nikki returned and was grabbed by Paige for a bit before Nikki recovered. Nikki pushed her onto the ring apron and then threw her right into the side ring barrier. Nikki locked Paige in a neck submission for a bit, but Paige eventually fought her way out. Nikki cut her off with an Alabama Slam for the 2-count, though. With both women back on their feet, Nikki looked to attack Paige in the corner. Paige got her boot up just in time to fend off Nikki, which was followed up by a series of Paige’s comeback maneuvers. Paige looked to land her Ram-Paige finisher at one point, but Nikki hopped out of her grasp. Paige still gained the upper hand by kicking Nikki right in her face while she ducked down. Nikki and Paige soon found themselves on the top rope, which resulted in Nikki flipping over Paige with a Sunset Flip and then Powerbombing Paige. Paige kicked out a following pin attempt. Paige soon looked to lock in her submission finisher on Nikki, but Nikki escaped. Nikki then won the match after slamming Paige face first into the corner ring pad and holding her tights for the final pin.


Bad News Barrett (c) vs. Dean Ambrose (WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Winner: Wade Barrett by disqualification…

Results/Highlights: Ambrose started things pretty fiercely and threw Barrett out of the ring. Back in the ring, Ambrose continued to smash Barrett until he got kicked right off the top rope to the outside of the ring. Barrett used the steel ring steps to keep weakening Ambrose. Both men returned to the ring, which led to Barrett laying in his knee to Ambrose in the ring corner. Ambrose found himself locked in a sleep hold, which he soon escaped from. He was met with another Barrett boot and found himself back outside the ring. Barrett further assaulted Ambrose until Ambrose put Barrett down with a rebound lariat. Ambrose then caught Barrett with a Tornado DDT when the action spilled back into the ring. Ambrose went into second gear and pulled of a nice series of moves on his opponent. Barrett looked to land his Winds of Change slam on Ambrose, but Ambrose fought back with a front dropkick and elbow drop off the top rope. Ambrose continued his nice combo of moves, but Barrett soon got back into the match by landing his Wasteland. Barrett reared up his Bull Hammer elbow strike, but Ambrose dodged it and land his devastating lariat once again. Ambrose went for his Dirty Deeds Double Arm DDT, but Barrett escaped and went to leave the match at hand. Ambrose vaulted onto Barrett through the ring ropes and stopped him. Barrett kept on trying to leave the match, but Ambrose cut him off at every attempt. Ambrose continued to kick Barrett, which forced the ref to throw the match out and disqualify Ambrose. For good measure, Ambrose dropped Barrett with his Dirty Deeds and then stole the WWE Intercontinental championship.


Rusev (c) (with Lana) vs. John Cena (WWE United States Championship)

Winner: And still the WWE United States Champion, Rusev!

Results/Highlights: Rusev entered into his fighting stance and threw a few kicks at Cena’s leg. Cena was caught off guard by Rusev’s swift strikes. Cena soon landed a nice punch to Rusev and powered him down with a tackle. Rusev soon got back into the match and struck Cena down once again. Cena looked to break down Rusev even more, but Rusev brought Cena down to the mat with a Spinning Kick. Rusev used his immense frame to splash Cena into the ring corner. While Cena stood on the ring apron, Rusev tackled him and threw him to the outside. Back in the ring, Rusev seemed disturbed by the crowd’s USA chants. Rusev turned right around into a sweet dropkick from Cena, but Rusev returned the favor with a dropkick of his own. As the match continued, Cena landed a few punches on Rusev and went to land his signature series of moves. Rusev caught Cena though and landed a nice Fallaway Slam to cut off Cena’s comeback. Cena laid on the mat as Rusev went to work with a series of elbow drops. Cena hung onto Rusev and got back to his feet, which was followed by Cena attempting to gain some steam. Cena soon found himself locked in a sleeper hold by Rusev. Cena powered out and then landed a suplex to the Russian behemoth. Rusev got back to his feet, but he was put down with a stuff lariat by Cena. Cena looked to land another big move, but Rusev cut him off once again by landing a spike DDT. Rusev then kept splashing Cena into the ring corner right after. Soon enough, Cena finally recovered and went into his signature comeback offense. Cena went to land his AA, but was met with a Rusev side kick instead. Cena managed to kick out of a following pin attempt, though. Cena got slammed soon after with a spinning side slam from Rusev, which only garnered a 2-count. Rusev went for another corner ring splash, but Cena booted him and laid him out with a top rope tornado DDT. When both men got back up, a back and forth strike battle began. Cena got the better of it and then went for another AA. Rusev hung onto the ropes and went for another spinning side slam, but Cena spun out of it and locked in a Crossface submission. Rusev broke the hold and shocked Cena with an Alabama Slam. Cena kicked out of a pin attempt right after, though. Rusev looked to crush Cena with his Accolade submission, but Cena caught Rusev’s leg and locked him into his STF. Rusev found himself locked into Cena’s hold for a while until he made his way to the bottom rope. Both men fought hard to get back to their feet. Rusev ran right into Cena, but almost got put down with an AA. Rusev jumped out of it, kicked Cena and then went for another move before Cena dropped with an AA. Rusev shocked the crowd and actually kicked out. Cena took to the top rope for another big move, but Rusev caught him and countered with a Powerbomb. Rusev immediately locked Cena into The Accolade submission hold. Cena did everything he could to power out of Rusev’s hold, which culminated in Cena eventually getting up with Rusev on his back. All of a sudden, Lana distracted the ref and Rusev landed a low blow on Cena behind the ref’s back. Rusev made Cena faint after another lock-in of The Accolade submission hold.

Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan (Winner becomes the #1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31)

Winner: Roman Reigns!

Results/Highlights: As the crowd engaged in duel chants for their chosen superstar, both men engaged in a tense lockup exchange. Bryan and Reigns found themselves going back and forth until Bryan locked in a tight headlock on Reigns. Reigns laid in some punches to Bryan’s gut and got him off. Bryan soon got into a quick exchange with Reigns, which Reigns got the better of. Bryan went to lock Reigns into a submission, but Reigns even powered out of that one and pushed Bryan into the ring corner. Bryan used his kicks to keep put Reigns down, but Reigns used his power to force Bryan into the ring corner. Bryan ran into the ring ropes to start another attack, but Reigns slammed him hard with a spinning side slam. On the outside, Reigns threw Bryan into the guard barrier on several occasions. Reigns threw his opponent back into the ring for more punishment, but Bryan got back up and kicked Reigns down. Bryan continued to use his array of shin kicks to weaken Reigns soon after. Reigns soon found himself on the ground locked in a Bryan leg submission, but Reigns powered out of that soon enough. Reigns then put Bryan down on his back with a Samoan Slam and a flying clothesline. Bryan tried to get back to his feet and eventually he caught Reigns with a kick in the corner. Reigns shook it off though and clotheslined Bryan and then landed a series of suplexes on his smaller adversary. While Bryan’s head laid upon the bottom ring rope, Reigns landed his running dropkick. Reigns then looked to finish off Bryan with his Superman Punch, but Bryan recovered just in time to cut him off with a side kick to the gut. Bryan then used more of his stiff kicks to break down Reigns. While Reigns lay weakened in the ring corner, Bryan destroyed him with three running dropkicks. Bryan laid in more side kicks to Reigns and got him up on the top rope. Bryan went for a Frankensteiner, but Reigns used his strength to catch Bryan and Powerbomb him off the top rope. Bryan kicked out of a pin attempt right after, but he got smashed into the corner with several clotheslines from Reigns. Reigns then stuck Bryan onto the top rope, but Bryan countered and pushed Reigns down onto the ring apron. Bryan then capitalized with a top rope backdrop suplex off the top rope. Reigns then got locked in Bryan’s Yes Lock, but Reigns grabbed the bottom ring rope for the submission hold break. As Reigns stood on the outside, Bryan hit him with two vaulting splashes through the middle rope. On Bryan’s third vault attempt, Reigns caught him and landed a huge belly to belly suplex. Reigns looked to do even more damage by landing a Spear to Bryan, but Bryan dodged and forced Reigns to run right into the steel ring steps. Both superstars fought hard to return to the ring. Bryan looked to land a move off the top rope on Reigns, but Reigns cut him off with a Superman Punch in midair. Bryan kicked out of a pin attempt right after, though. Reigns then went for his big spear but Bryan caught him with a surprise small package. Reigns kicked out, but Bryan then laid him out with a roundhouse kick and his running knee strike. Bryan went for the win, but Reigns kicked out. When Reigns recovered, Bryan began to land more kicks until Reigns caught his leg. Bryan proceeded to lay in some disrespectful slaps, but Reigns powered out once again. Bryan used Reigns own comeback against him though and locked in two more submission holds. Reigns fought out of both holds and Powerbombed Bryan soon after. The ref counted as both men slowly got back to their feet. Reigns and Bryan engaged in an intense strike exchange that Bryan got the better of. Bryan went for another running knee strike, but he was cut down with a final Reigns Spear. Reigns then garnered the final 1-2-3 pinfall. After the match, Bryan shook Reigns’ hand and shouted at him to beat Lesnar’s ass.

Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan!


Best Non-Match Moments/Highlights

• Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback had a group promo regarding their big 6-man tag team match. They noted what’s truly best for business is them. Rowan made it clear they they’ve all been exiled for the last time. It’s about time they cleared out The Authority.

• Renee Young sat down with Dean Ambrose to speak about his WWE Intercontinental Championship match against Bad New Barrett. Ambrose spoke on how much of a workhorse title the IC Championship is. He made it clear that he’s willing to fight anytime, anyplace when it comes to taking down BNB. He let the WWE Universe know that he’s going to beat Barrett, restore the credibility of the IC Title and take it right into WrestleMania 31.

• The Bella Twins got caught coming into the arena by Byron Saxton. Both twins lamented over Paige and how they were going to make sure she never sniffed a WWE Divas championship reign ever again. They dug into her by calling her a emo wannabe and knocking her pale skin.

• The Usos answered a number of questions fielded them to fans from Twitter. They wee noticeably ecstatic about their father Rikishi getting into the WWE Hall of Fame and their big WWE Tag Team Championship match tonight.

• Paul Heyman participated in a special presentation of Miz TV. Of course, the crowd went nuts when Damien Mizdow taunted behind Miz’s back. Miz was none too pleased, so he made him sit in the corner during his segment. Heyman told the crowd that his client Brock Lesnar was not in the building this evening. He made sure to not discount Daniel Bryan’s potential chances against Lesnar, but he made sure to note that Lesnar wouldn’t be concerned with Bryan challenging him. In a funny moment, Heyman told Miz that he didn’t like how Mizdow was looking at him. Miz went into a yelling tirade and made his personal assistant face the corner like a child. When the interview got back underway, Heyman talked up Reigns and his badass stature. Heyman was forced to stop talking for a quick second due to the crowd chanting loudly for Mizdow. Heyman restarted his answer about Reigns going against Lesnar. He made it clear that Reigns wouldn’t prevail against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion either.

• Dusty Rhodes spoke with his son Goldust in the back while he prepared for his match against Cody Rhodes. Dusty made it known that he would still cherish both of his sons even after the match concluded. Goldust knew that he’d have to beat down Stardust just to make him stop wearing face paint anymore. Goldust wanted to bring his brother home.

• When Stardust came upon Goldust and Dusty backstage after his match, he decided to beat down his brother. Stardust then got in his father’s face, telling him that he didn’t live in his father’s shadow. He noted that Dusty would be living in his shadow now.

• The familiar druids and creepy singing associated with The Undertaker suddenly swept over the arena. Undertaker’s music hit and the crowd went wild as a casket proceeded to come down the ramp. Shockingly though, Bray Wyatt was revealed to be the man waiting inside the casket. Bray went into his creepy and confounding tirade with a live mic in hand. He alluded to once being in awe of The Undertaker, but now he noted that his former hero was no longer the legend he used to be. Bray spoke on The Undertaker’s soul as being lost and his newfound stature among the mortals. Bray Wyatt called himself the new face of fear. Bray promised to claim the soul of The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31.
