Did Carl Appear On ‘Fear The Walking Dead’?

Is this Carl making a cameo in “Fear The Walking Dead”? (Screenshot)

Alert viewers are noting that one of the extras seen walking into the safe zone at the beginning of episode four of Fear the Walking Dead looks suspiciously like Carl from The Walking Dead. Several people discussed it on this thread on Reddit and in other online communities. The scene appears about three minutes into the episode and the actor’s hair cut, hair color, and clothing appear very reminiscent of Carl.

So is it Carl?

No.

Remember, Carl is about the height of the above photo now in The Walking Dead universe, but Fear The Walking Dead takes place much earlier in the chronology, while Rick was still in a coma. So at that time, Carl looked like this:

This is definitely not the same character who was in the first screenshot, seen briefly in Fear The Walking Dead. But did the director intend for us to notice a similarity? That’s possible.
