Why Is Alfonso Ribeiro Filling in for Tom Bergeron on ‘Dancing With the Stars’?

Last week, Alfonso Ribeiro appeared on DWTS as a guest judge and how he’s back again. So, why is Alfonso Ribeiro hosting Dancing With the Stars this week instead of Tom Bergeron? Unfortunately, Bergeron’s father is quite sick and he posted the news on Twitter yesterday, writing:

I’ll miss 2morrow’s #dwts to be at my Dad’s bedside. He’s given me a lifetime of support. Time to return the favor … I’m on a plane reading all of your lovely tweets which I’ll share with my Dad. They are deeply appreciated. Thank you.

I will be filling in for @tombergeron tomorrow night on @dancingabc. I will be there with a heavy heart for my friend Tom and the Bergeron family.

Recently, Alfonso Ribeiro replaced Tom Bergeron on America’s Funniest Home Videos. Hopefully, Bergeron isn’t going anywhere though we’d love to see Ribeiro as a regular cast member on DWTS.
