While two of the Mikaelsons are making their Mystic Falls return, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will be joining forces to discover Lucien's plans. The pair might have their fair share of individual issues, but right now their only focus is to stay a step ahead of those who could kill Klaus and, most importantly, keeping Hope safe. It might also help both of them move past their respective relationship issues. "We're putting these two characters in a place where they're allowed to start to heal a little bit. We're going to see them use humor and reasoned arguments, as opposed to screaming matches, to voice their opinions," executive producer Michael Narducci told TVLine.
