‘The Originals’ Season 3: Episode 17 Spoilers

Crossover episode? Crossover episode?!? Well, kind of. Tonight's brand-new episode of The Originals, titled Behind the Black Horizon, will feature an appearance by Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) of The Vampire Diaries. But don't call it a crossover episode. "I really hesitate to call this episode a crossover," executive producer Michael Narducci told TVLine. "I would say it’s an appearance — a special guest appearance — but I wouldn’t call it a crossover and get fans believing we’re doing some big epic thing. It’s a small story, though we do get to see a pretty nice payoff to it." So, how did Matt end up making the move - or the appearance - on The Originals? Finn and Elijah are going to Mystic Falls. If that worries any Matt-focused fans, we get it. After all, the Mikaelsons are dealing with a fair share of drama back in New Orleans and returning to Mytic Falls is a bit of a last resort for the brothers.
