Tonight is the grand finale of Dancing With the Stars and it has been a long journey for Nyle DiMarco, Ginger Zee and Paige VanZant. Which contestant do you think will take home this season’s mirrorball trophy?
Nyle DiMarco is our personal favorite and he has shown amazing strength as well as a powerful message with his performances. Being deaf and not being able to hear the music, yet being able to keep on beat while having rhythm, is truly a remarkable feat. With the help of Peta Murgatroyd, he has shown that just because someone is deaf, does not mean they are any different or are limited in any way. And, last night, for his freestyle performance, he and Murgatroyd delivered an exceptional performance that judge Carrie Ann Inaba called the best dance she has ever seen on the show. Ginger Zee has had her ups and downs in this competition, but she has been shown a lot of love from the network and the judges. Paired with DWTS fan-favorite pro Val Chmerkovskiy, she has had very good instruction over the course of the season. This past week, she suffered a back spasm and was almost unable to perform in the finals. Fortunately, she overcame the pain and pushed through.
And then there’s MMA fighter Paige VanZant who is paired with veteran pro Mark Ballas. After their performances at the finals, Ballas became very emotional and thanked the show for just being a part of it, which is very unlike him. From the beginning of the season, VanZant showed athleticism and flexibility, but her dancing has truly improved over the weeks. Though she has not always had the best scores on the leader board, she has had memorable moments and amazing performances.
