PureDWTS reports that ABC was looking to Indy car driver James Hinchcliffe as a possibility for the cast. The source reports that Hinchcliffe was in the audience on the show last season, so perhaps he was scoping out the scene. A reporter with PureDWTS stated: A friend who works very closely with the racing industry (I won’t give any more detail than that, lest I inadvertently get this friend in trouble) mentioned to me in passing that DWTS had been shopping around to cast another racing driver for season 23.
