Over this past winter, Waddell was dating ex Erik DiNardo, who was also a Nashville singer-songwriter. The two had only been dating about six months and Waddell told Us Weekly: Erik and I broke up the day after Valentine’s Day. It was really sad and completely unexpected, on both of our parts. We figured out that we both were wanting different things in the future. So we called it off before it got even more serious, which was hard when you love someone ... I am just one of those ‘everything happens for a reason’ people ... So I can’t live in yesterday and I don’t want to ... I’m super-thankful for Erik because we wrote a badass song for Jade [Tolbert]’s wedding. (ABC)
