In an interview with Us Weekly, Maks was asked about a rumored rivalry with Derek Hough. He stated that: I don’t have a rivalry with Derek. Derek may have a rivalry with me, but I don’t have one. In 2011, Maks stated that Hough was favored to win. When this was brought up to him, Maks explained: I just literally said everything that everybody else thinks.
