David Bowie’s ‘Blackstar’ Album Wins at the 2017 Grammys

David Bowie may be gone, but he is definitely not forgotten, and neither is his final album “Blackstar,” which is nominated for several awards at tonight’s Grammys. Bowie’s album is nominated in the Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Song categories. In addition, he already is revealed to have won one of this year’s Grammy Awards. Pitch Fork reports that he has won Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical at for “Blackstar”. Along with him, Tom Elmhirst, Kevin Killen, Tony Visconti, and master engineer Joe LaPorta won. This is reported to be his first-ever musical Grammys win.

“Blackstar” has also won Best Recording Package tonight so far and Bowie fans are hoping that more are to come during the televised ceremony.

“Blackstar” was Bowie’s 25th studio album and Bowie privately suffered through liver cancer while creating it. Its release came just two days before his death.
