In his life, Maurice dated a few performers in the industry including Hungarian singer Sarolta Zalatnay and Scottish pop singer Lulu. At the time of his death, he was married to second wife Yvonne Spenceley Gibb, with whom he had two children. Maurice died unexpectedly at the hospital from complications of a twisted intestine.
