‘Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge’: What Time & Channel Is It On?

Tonight, season 2 of Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge returns to NBC after the season 9 premiere of American Ninja Warrior.

Teams will face off on some of the country’s most challenging obstacle course races together. The show brings teams of five together– two men and two women, and an “elite Spartan athlete” who serves as the team captain.

Tonight will feature 46-year-old Liam Collins– a Special Forces colonel in the Army and the director of the Modern War Institute at West Point. According to the Post Crescent, Collins has been deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq a number of times and earned his Ph.D. from Princeton.

Collins will be the captain of Team Commanding Officers this year, and recently spoke to the Post Crescent about team training. “”I knew all of them had pretty good upper body strength for endurance runners so I thought they would be fairly strong at obstacle course racing. A lot of times when we race, it’s more of an individual, or you’re collectively adding your times to get results, but these are obstacles where there’s no way you could do them by yourself. You have to do them together, so that’s a cool aspect of it.”
