‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ on Netflix: Cast Spoilers

Jaz Sinclair as Rosalind Walker, Sabrina's Friend

Jaz Sinclair portrays one of Sabrina's best friends, Rosalind Walker. Rosalind is fiercely loyal to Sabrina and the rest of their tight-knit group. But she is dealing with a lot more than the viewer is introduced to at first, and it may affect her friendship with Sabrina at one point. But for now, Rosalind is a fiercely independent student who is fighting for women's empowerment at the school, and is helping form the WICCA group. Jaz Sinclair is perfect in this role of a strong female student who is dealing with a lot of inner turmoil and anguish. Sinclair was born in 1994 in Dallas, Texas, and has made a name for herself quickly. You may remember her from Slender Man (Chloe), Easy (Amber), The Vampire Diaries (Beatrice Bennett - and her current character reminds me a bit of the Bennetts too), Rizolli & Isles (Tasha), Think Fast, Fun Mom Dinner, When the Bough Breaks, Revolution (Kim), Ordained, A Race Against Time, and Into Dust. Her father is African American and her mother is of Italian, Irish, and Swedish descent, giving her a unique perspective on life, according to IMDB. According to Global Grind, she has described herself as a "wanderlusty, old soul" and a sensitive creature who gets overwhelmed when surrounded by buildings, lights, and technology. She moved to New York City at 18 and worked paycheck to paycheck to try to make ends meet. She said yoga grounds her. She's also an avid book reader. [MAJOR SPOILER ABOUT ROSALIND] We learn partway through the series that Rosalind is going blind. It can't be stopped, not even with magic. In fact, her blindness may be the result of a curse on her family from a witch many generations in the past. But with her curse, she will also discover that she has a gift that helps her sense the future. This will likely end up having serious repercussions on her relationship with Sabrina. According to Netflix, "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit." Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also serves as chief creative officer of Archie Comics, penned the script for the series. Aguirre-Sacasa will executive produce alongside Riverdale collaborators Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater and Lee Toland Krieger. The drama hails from Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions. The show's close relationship with Riverdale means we might see some crossovers in the future.
