Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth’s Relationship Over the Last 10 Years [PHOTOS]

Miley Cyrus confirmed today on Instagram that she and long-time boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, are married. According to her posts, the wedding took place on December 23; speculations of a secret, private wedding circulated after guests at the event shared Instagram story videos of Cyrus dressed in white, cutting a cake with Hemsworth in front of “Mr. & Mrs.” balloons.

In one of the wedding portraits Cyrus shared, she included the caption “10 years later…” Fans in the comments were struck by the years-long journey the two took to reach their wedding. According to Cosmopolitan, the two dated on and off from 2010 to 2012, before announcing their engagement in June 2012. The two then called off the engagement in 2013, and were not officially back together until 2016. Cyrus confirmed the two were engaged on Ellen in October 2016.

2018

A week before their private wedding, Cyrus appeared as a musical guest on the Christmas special episode of Saturday Night Live. According to Instagram, Hemsworth accompanied her to New York and was present for the show rehearsals.

2017

Fully back together in the public eye, Miley Cyrus released her single “Malibu” in 2017, which was revealed to about Hemsworth and the city in which they live together. In an interview with Billboard, she shared that her reason for writing it was “They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel’?” She also got candid about their 2013 break-up, saying “I needed to change so much. And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. Suddenly you’re like, ‘I don’t recognize you anymore.’ We had to refall for each other.”

2016

After about 3 years apart, during which Cyrus dated and broke up with Patrick Schwarzenegger and Hemsworth was linked to other women, the two reunited.

2013
