‘Star Wars: Battlefront’: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

**Update: We’ve just received more details! Read much more about Star Wars: Battlefront here.

EA and DICE are working on getting Star Wars: Battlefront released in 2015, and we’re getting closer and closer to seeing the game in our living rooms. As it stands right now, we don’t have a great deal of information about the upcoming highly anticipated Star Wars game. We do know a few things, though, so here are 5 fast facts you need to know about Star Wars: Battlefront 3 before the reveal trailer on Friday during the Star Wars Celebration live stream:

1. ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Will Be Playable First on Xbox One due to EA Access.

One of the most interesting bits of Star Wars: Battlefront news we have so far is that Xbox One owners that have an EA Access subscription will be able to get the game before PS4 owners. We don’t know how much earlier Xbox One owners will have the game, but the news was confirmed via Microsoft’s game marketing lead Aaron Greenberg.

2. The ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Reveal Trailer Is Scheduled to Surface on April 17.

While EA & DICE are teasing Star Wars: Battlefront art all week, we won’t get a full look at it until the reveal trailer drops, which is currently scheduled for April 17 during the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim, California. We’ll undoubtedly get a full breakdown of what Battlefront will be like at E3 2015, so don’t expect too much of a reveal. Still, a little Star Wars is better than no Star Wars.

3. It Is In Shaky Hands, Development-Wise.

Unfortunately, EA didn’t keep the Star Wars: Battlefront franchise with the developers of the first two games, Pandemic Studios, but instead gave it to DICE, the makers of the Battlefield games and Mirror’s Edge. Of course, Battlefield hasn’t been the same since the release of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline, which both had rocky launches. But, I’m not ready to write DICE off just yet. If EA allows DICE to botch a Star Wars game, they’re likely going to go back to being the most hated company in America.

4. The ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Release Date Is Set For Holiday 2015.

As it stands right now, the Star Wars: Battlefront release date is still set for Holiday 2015, and it’s doubtful that will change. For one, EA hasn’t announced a Battlefield for the fall, and it’s doubtful that they will, since Hardline already came out earlier this year. That means good things for DICE, since the developers won’t be stretched out among two projects and can focus on wrapping up Battlefront’s development.

5. There Isn’t a ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Xbox 360 or PS3 Version Coming.

EA has announced that they will not be developing the game for Xbox 360 or PS3. The game will only be coming for Xbox One, PS4 and PC (which hopefully means there will be some great PC mods, too). So if you haven’t picked up an Xbox One or PS4 just yet, you might want to do so by Christmas.
